Personal journey through lower jaw and genioplasty surgery. Wednesday, 9 October 2013. Day 30 - One Month Post-Op! Today marks one month post-op, and it went by fast! I can remember waking up from surgery and it feels like a year ago. Tocchio gave me the go ahead last week to start running and I managed a slow and clumsy 4k over the weekend. Personal journey through lower jaw and genioplasty surgery. Thursday, 26 September 2013. Day 17 - Return to Food. Today, I am happily shoving whatever I can into the now 8mm opening. While I'm a borderline vegetarian, it feels so good to eat soft ground beef and chicken. Today I bought some fish that I will cook for the next two days. Personal journey through lower jaw and genioplasty surgery. Wednesday, 2 October 2013. Day 23 - The New Girl in the Mirror. Well, 3 weeks post-op came and went. Saw Dr. Tocchio yesterday, and while I think he's a genius, he seemed very nonchalant about everything. When I asked if I could start running, he said "3, 4 weeks, yeah, you're ok". Personal journey through lower jaw and genioplasty surgery. Friday, 1 November 2013. Day uh, .where's my calculator? My troubles with basic arithmetic continue, but, as I alluded to in my last post, my intuition is sharper than ever. I'm on lighter elastics now, more formally known as "Bear".as opposed to the "Leopard" elastics which followed my surgical elastics. I go a few hours during the work day without them and am hoping Tocchio let's me go day free with them when I see him again next week.
