Chile - South America

http://southamericaawoab.weebly.com/chile.html

8203;The road across from Argentina to Chile was very good view, and there were a few cars at the border, waiting to cross. Chile has strict rules about bringing in fruit, and some other foods, but they didn't check my bags, they just questioned me. After crossing the border, I encountered many amazing carvings in the hillsides. I was so glad I didn't have to cycle up those hills . 17th, 18th, 19th September. I woke up early and took a bus to the tourist town of Valparaiso on the coast. The journey t...

Paraguay - South America

http://southamericaawoab.weebly.com/paraguay.html

When we crossed to the Paraguayan side, the police stopped our bus a few times. This was our first border crossing by bus, so we had nothing to compare it with. Once we had to get off the bus, unload all our luggage, and open all the cases to show what was inside, it took a long time. I think they were looking for drugs. It was a long journey , we didn't arrive in Asuncion until 9.30pm that day. We went to the pretty town of Encarnation. Across the river , you can see the Argentine town of Posadas, w...

Email, kumi tashito@hotmail.com. We stayed in Medellin for 6 days. It is a very lively city, with many street stalls. We are in Bogota now, having left our bikes in Manizales. It was hard enough getting into Medellin, so we took a bus here. Bogota is a big, sprawling city, famous for its graffiti. Day 10 to 14. 17th to 21st February. Approaching Medellin, we encountered heavy traffic. We stopped just before Medellin, at Bello. We stayed in a hotel, where we had proper hot showers for the first ti...We re...

Uruguay - South America

http://southamericaawoab.weebly.com/uruguay.html

I was shocked and disappointed , as I had just bought pasta sauce, thinking I could have pasta for my dinner, but it was not to be. Anyway, I survived. Next morning, the Bomberos boss showed us the road to Aguas Dulces, we cycled the 10km there together. The Uruguayan coast is beautiful with long white beached. We stopped at La Paloma, where we found the Bomberos located in the woods. This one had dogs too, it seems that every Uruguayan Bomberos does. Create a free website.

Day 205 - 219. 31 August - 14th September. We took the ferry from Colonia del Sacramento to Buenos Aires. Renata and I booked with different ferry companies, her 4pm ferry had engine problems, so she had to wait for the next one, at 8pm. I had no problem on my ferry, the journey took an hour and a half. I then cycled to the hostel. I was overwhelmed by the size of the city. 1st - 3rd September. We took a train to the pretty town of Tigre, in the delta area, where the only transport is by boat. I got to M...

A trip to remember

A trip to remember. Wednesday, October 15, 2008. Hasta luego Sud America. For a bit and figured it was understood that the plane was full. In any case, as dinner came around so did drinks, and the $5/drink fee was waved for me. PARTY! Thanks a bunch David) For the next 3.5 hours I slept like a log, waking up completely parched and dehydrated, peeling the tongue off the roof of my mouth and running to the back for a bottle of water. Not a bad return flight, maybe next time 1st class won't be full. We were...

South America - Chile

8203;1st October-16th October. It was a nice day, so I left in the morning to make for Castro, the capital of Chiloe island. It was an up and down ride of about 85km, with many hills, and poor road surface in places, unlike the main highway of Chiloe, Routa 5. Chiloe is a Unesco World Heritage site, because of its 16 historic churches. 2nd October. I left the hostel at 8.30 am. And headed for the Qullion ferry. It was about 90km to the ferry, which was due to leave at 6pm. A foggy, cold day. I cycled...
