It was originally laid down between 1948/49 by former Margate bowler, Jimmy Green, and the late Ernie Sturman of Southbroom. The green was officially opened in 1950. Southbroom has three beautiful swimming beaches, Main Beach, Grannies Beach (Hotel Pool) and Umkobi beach.
