To celebrate such an important man takes a pretty special meal. On the menu was Blue Cheese and Caramelized Onion Stuffed Filet Mignon served with Grilled Vegetable Salad tossed in a Balsamic Dijon Vinaigrette! We started with a great cut of tenderloin. Important to start with a good piece of meat! Rub and let it come to room temperature.

Eat grow. design. inspire. June 26, 2011. Basil, Basil Everywhere! I now have 5 basil plants! It is my favorite herb to cook with and grow. Only thing is you have to pick the leaves pretty regularly to encourage new growth. So, tonight I made a Basil Pesto Pasta with Sautéed Squash Ribbons and Purple Cherokee Heirloom Tomatoes. 2 1/2 cups packed fresh basil (or add 1/2 cup spinach with 2 cups of basil). 2 small cloves of garlic (or one large). 2 Tbsp toasted pine nuts (can substitute walnuts or almonds).
