Toys in the Attic: March 2010
http://aero-toysintheattic.blogspot.com/2010_03_01_archive.html
Toys in the Attic. Wednesday, March 31, 2010. The regular season hasn’t even started yet and the Rays are already doomed. I’m not talking about the injury to their best relieve pitcher J.P. Howell, although he will be sorely missed in April. It is the jinx that has been put on them by Sports Illustrated. The publication’s prediction of a World Series appearance has cursed the team to failure as sure as Pat Burrell has been a bust. Friday, March 12, 2010. The Rays Last Stand. The infield features three me...

Monday Morning Crew Chief: Rating the Daytona 500: 3 Stars ***
http://mondaymorningcrewchief.blogspot.com/2012/02/rating-daytona-500-2-stars.html
2011 MMCC Star Ratings. Tuesday, February 28, 2012. Rating the Daytona 500: 3 Stars * *. It’s finally over. The Daytona 500 that would never start turned into the Daytona 500 that refused to end. There was rain, there was fire and there was racing, but the whole extravaganza only gets a 3 Star Rating. The race was good, but the circumstances that surrounded the race also made it an endurance test for not only the drivers, but also the fans. Second, Juan Pablo Montoya had one of the wildest freak accident...

Monday Morning Crew Chief: Rating the Finger Lakes 355: 4 Stars ****
http://mondaymorningcrewchief.blogspot.com/2012/08/rating-finger-lakes-355-4-stars.html
2011 MMCC Star Ratings. Sunday, August 12, 2012. Rating the Finger Lakes 355: 4 Stars * *. It took a race track covered in motor oil to produce an exciting finish, but the Sprint Cup Series drivers sure went nuts as they slid through the final two laps Sunday at Watkins Glen. The first 88 laps weren’t much different than the rest of the relatively boring season, but the wild and crazy finish gives this race a 4 Star Rating. The first 95 percent of the race was about as typical of a Watkins Glen race as p...

Spinout!: July 2012
http://srmgene.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 15, 2012. View From The Flagstand: 2012 First Half. The season started off with a bang, literally, as Juan Montoya detonated a jet blower truck as the Daytona 500 was under caution. As a prime-time tv audience watched the delayed Daytona 500, Montoya plowed into the track cleaning machine and brought about another two hour delay late on a Monday night. Is there a chance that NASCAR's tv partners would treat the fans the same way they treat their stick and ball sports' fans? Links to this post.

Spinout!: December 2011

Tuesday, December 6, 2011. What Now For Kurt Busch. With Kurt Busch's "mutual" ouster at Penske Racing, we are left to wonder who will get his old ride in the #22 Dodge? I believe the reason he had to leave the Penske #2 ride last year was because the new sponsor of the 22 demanded a "championship caliber" driver. That verbiage cuts Kurt's potential replacements down to Bill Elliott, Terry Labonte, Kimi Raikkonen, and not much else. The other big question is where will Kurt wind up? Links to this post.

Spinout!: October 2011
http://srmgene.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Monday, October 31, 2011. View From The Flagstand: Stewart's Third Chase Win. The 2011 NASCAR Chase was interrupted on Sunday as Martinsville Speedway put on an old fashioned short track race. There was actual racing, passing, slamming, ramming, and multiple paybacks at the venerable half mile track. The gloves were dropped along with the green flag, as a total lack of respect accounted for the majority of the 18 caution flags. Brian Vickers was involved in 5 of the 18 cautions. This from a driver tr...

Monday Morning Crew Chief: Rating the Auto Club 400: 1 Star *
http://mondaymorningcrewchief.blogspot.com/2012/03/rating-auto-club-400-1-star.html
2011 MMCC Star Ratings. Sunday, March 25, 2012. Rating the Auto Club 400: 1 Star *. The first Sprint Cup Series race in California this year was less than thrilling, as a drive down the interstate would’ve been more exciting than Sunday’s race at Auto Club Speedway. It took just five races for Monday Morning Crew Chief to dish out the first 1 Star Rating. Those are the ingredients for a pretty boring race. Shoot, some fans might not have digested their Sunday fried chicken before the race was over. The o...

Monday Morning Crew Chief: Monday Morning Crew Chief Rating System
http://mondaymorningcrewchief.blogspot.com/2009/07/monday-morning-crew-chief-rating-system.html
2011 MMCC Star Ratings. Saturday, July 18, 2009. Monday Morning Crew Chief Rating System. A look at the rating system from Monday Morning Crew Chief:. 1 Star * = Awful race. Debris cautions every twenty laps. The top 5 remains the same basically throughout the race. And to top things off, caution comes out during the green-white-checkered finish causing the race to finish under yellow. 5 Stars * * * = Terrific race. One of those that leaves you with your heart pounding and probably standing up in you...
