Life of a 1/2 Ironman: July 2009
http://iron-boyer.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
Saturday, July 25, 2009. Not what I expected. It's only been 3 days since I got off my crutches but I don't like what I am feeling right now. I am experiencing a pinching pain close to where I felt my pain pre. I went on my trainer twice in the past 3 days and I don't feel any pain. I figured since it's not much weight that my knee has to bare I will continue that to keep my leg moving as prescribed. By my doctor. I was hoping to be back on the street when Rob comes to visit on the 7 th. 4 days to go.

The Athlete's Mind: December 2008
http://theathletesmind.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Reflections and ramblings on sport and multisport. Sunday, December 28, 2008. 1406 is the easy part.Part I. The greater the adversity the greater the victory. I had used this phrase a couple of time to egg on some of my friends as they went through some issues with their races. Now I suddenly find myself trying to take heart in them, to understand them. Selfish, insane, just wanting to have something good to look forward to? Last year I was on a training ride with Claire. How bad was the pain? Figure cha...

TriGreyhound: December 2009

Friday, December 11, 2009. The Most Interesting Man In The World. In the last week, I have been going back and forth on whether to man up and do Ironman St. George in May. As an unreformed addict, I'm a bit lost without an Ironman, but I think one of the main reasons Ironman is going on hiatus is that there are other things I want to try that would be impossible if I were training at an Ironman level. In fact, I am an appellate lawyer, which means I read, write and research about the courts all the time.

Life of a 1/2 Ironman: 4 days to go
http://iron-boyer.blogspot.com/2009/07/4-days-to-go.html
Saturday, July 18, 2009. 4 days to go. This Thursday I saw Dr. Waskowitz. For the second time after my surgery. He did a quick check to see if I felt any pain by doing different movements and happily there was none. My knee isn't swollen. Anymore and my range of motion is better than expected. I was told to stay on crutches until Thursday and after that I can start some easy stationary biking and swimming. Here is a MRI picture of my cartilage damage. The white spot means that the cartilage is missing.
