http://sallysrealfood.blogspot.com/2013/10/simple-sides.html
Real food. really free from GMOs. Organic, local, GMO-free, real food, real delish. Thursday, October 10, 2013. I have a vague memory of brussels sprouts being my all-time favorite vegetable, yet I only remember eating them once, as a kid. They weren't something we grew in our garden and I think Mom ever bought them, so I don't know why I have this memory of them being something fantastic, but I was eager to give them a try when they came on that big crazy stalk in the bin this week. That greenish pile o...

Canadian Mama Prepping for Tomorrow: April 2011
http://canadianmammapreppingfortomorrow.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Canadian Mama Prepping for Tomorrow. Thursday, 7 April 2011. In this house potatoes rule! Yes, we eat rice and pasta but potatoes are king around here! I have always been a snob about "fake" potatoes. I would never have dreamed of serving them to my family. I have faded memories of the few times my mother served them and they were a disgusting pasty memory. The ingredient list is small, potatoes, sea salt and dried milk, so they actually are potatoes! Harvest earth creamy mash potatoes. It's a rainy, glo...

Canadian Mama Prepping for Tomorrow: February 2011
http://canadianmammapreppingfortomorrow.blogspot.com/2011_02_01_archive.html
Canadian Mama Prepping for Tomorrow. Sunday, 27 February 2011. I receive email updates from some blogs in regards to prepping, homesteading, etc. This morning I open one from Rudy Kearney asking for readers to check out his new food calculator. What makes this one different is that you just put in how many members you have in your family and it will give you exact numbers of what you need in each category. It is very similar to the LDS calculator. Just wish I had someone to lament my worries and concerns...

Chestnut Acres Limited: Root Washer
http://chestnutacresfarm.blogspot.com/2012/03/root-washer.html
Chestnut Acres Limited-A Family Farm. Sunday, 11 March 2012. There has been some interest in the design of our root washer so I have taken a few pictures which show how it was constructed. We did not manufacture this washer ourselves but bought it used from another vegetable farmer. It would be easy to reproduce. That looks so cool. Im curious how you unload the roots. Is there a way to dump or slide them out, or do you grab them by the handful out of the barrel. Thanks for posting this.
