The Joyous Reader: December 2010
http://joyousreader.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Do you like books? Do you like blogs? Then welcome to this blook! My thoughts on what I'm reading: classic books, current books, and children's books. Tuesday, 14 December 2010. About a teenager who talks to his poster of Tony Hawk to deal with his problems (you know, all those real life, serious, important problems worth giving a crap about that 15-year olds have), was so amatuerishly and condescendingly written that I returned it to the library after reading only a few chapters. How to be Good. While D...

Do you like books? Do you like blogs? Then welcome to this blook! My thoughts on what I'm reading: classic books, current books, and children's books. Monday, 28 February 2011. I love finding new, talented authors, especially if I get to jump on the bandwagon right after they've published their first novel. Such is the case for me with Kathleen Winter and her beautiful first novel Annabel. However, by far the most memorable and absorbing aspect of Annabel. 28 February 2011 at 07:34. This is one of the be...

Most days I wish I was a British pound coin instead of an African girl. Everyone would be pleased to see me coming," says Little Bee, our eponymous, teenaged, Nigerian heroine. These first engaging paragraphs of Chris Cleave's novel Little Bee. According to Cleave, the novel was partially inspired by the true story of Manuel Bravo.

Do you like books? Do you like blogs? Then welcome to this blook! My thoughts on what I'm reading: classic books, current books, and children's books. Saturday, 9 February 2013. Um, so, it's been a year since my last post on this blog. I suck. I'm aware. Despite having read quite a few fantastic books that I loved last year, somehow I never managed to put fingers to keys to write about them. The book in question is Nancy Richler's The Imposter Bride. Outside of the cities, stones, and strong women, the n...

I’m old and slow, but I look good and isn’t that all that really counts? May 2, 2009. On May 4, 2009 4:04 am. Ouch, that is bogus. That would suck it big time. On May 4, 2009 10:58 am. What the hell kind of binge eater are you? I would have eaten them without thinking twice. Wow I guess men are from Mars…. So, are you alive?

I’m old and slow, but I look good and isn’t that all that really counts? April 2, 2010. On April 5, 2010 10:15 am. Alright, I thought we talked about this. You were going to put in some extra returns for me on these posts so they’re not one huge block of gray text. Can you throw me a bone, here? Do you have two cars — one you drive all the time and one you drive once a year or so? How can you give up that precious real estate in your garage? Is this thing a vintage something or other? And yes I drive my ...

I’m old and slow, but I look good and isn’t that all that really counts? 8230;and then the next week or so turned into most of a month. Some time back, I don’t recall exactly when, I’d had another kind of odd dream which I have good recall of. I’d enjoyed the sunny day and spending time with my friend but the ending struck me as kind of strange. Thinking back on it, it became maybe even a little stranger. We have death memorials at the shop. A golf course on Greenwood Cemetery Rd. Is she in trouble?
