I've started shaping the knit tank top and I'm beginning to believe my crazy scheme just might work! I started from the bottom by casting on 65 stitches. I worked 7/8" knit 1, purl 1 ribbing then in stockinette stitch until the piece measured 9-1/8". It is progressing much faster that I had expected but even so, it's much slower project than anything I've ever knitted in the past. 8250; Labels: Bumblebee Outfit. 171; Older Post. The Notes That Follow Sow: Tomato Surprise!
http://notesthatfollowsow.blogspot.com/2011/05/tomato-surprise.html
The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Tuesday, May 24, 2011. It might seem like I'm a little slow getting my garden in this year, but it's just recently that our temperatures have managed to climb out of the 40s on a consistent basis. Consequently, I'm just getting my tomatoes going, even in The Tomato House. These will be going out in the garden beds but I'm not sure what kind of provisions to make for staking them. I know that "some" of the starts are Romas, which wou...

The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Saturday, June 5, 2010. I Am an Avenging Angel of Death. All the forces of hell are arrayed against me. Their numbers are legion. They haunt the dark hours between dusk and dawn. Our situation is desperate; we are nearly undone. You might not think so if you'd seen your healthy little petunia transplants - the ones you started from seed - reduced to this overnight:. And what's up with that anyway? I happened to have "a few" yogurt cups ...

The Notes That Follow Sow: First Lessons Of Winter Gardening
http://notesthatfollowsow.blogspot.com/2009/10/first-lessons-of-winter-gardening.html
The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Sunday, October 18, 2009. First Lessons Of Winter Gardening. One of the things that I've already learned about winter gardening is that things grow much more slowly in cooler weather. Of course I knew that, but failed to apply it when planning my winter garden. Actually, "planning" might be an overstatement. Let me backtrack a bit. Still trying to play catch up, today I seeded nine square feet of raised bed with Red Sails leaf lettuce, ...

The Notes That Follow Sow: Failure, er, Hard Lessons in the Garden
http://notesthatfollowsow.blogspot.com/2010/01/failure-er-hard-lessons-in-garden.html
The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Sunday, January 3, 2010. Failure, er, Hard Lessons in the Garden. My poor garden is very nearly as neglected as this blog (insert sad face here). Despite having high hopes for winter time harvests of fresh, tasty vegetables, I made some crucial errors that resulted in "less than optimal results." Or a complete and utter failure. Either way it wasn't very appetizing, which isn't to say that we didn't eat it anyway. One tidbit I've alread...

The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Tuesday, October 27, 2009. To Do In The Garden; October 27, 2009. I have a few garden chores I've been putting off; I need to get to them as they'll only loom larger as the weather gets colder and (more importantly) wetter. Pull out remaining warm weather crops: pole beans, zucchini, corn stalks, sunflowers, tomatoes. Clean trellises and store in a dry place. Links to this post. Sunday, October 25, 2009. First Frost; October 25, 2009.

Welcome to Hearts and Crafts. This is my inaugural post here so thanks for checking it out. Please take a moment to visit my other blogs as well; they're listed in the right sidebar under "More.". In this tutorial, we'll be knitting a 16-point dishcloth with eyelets. One skein of worsted weight, cotton yarn such as Lily's Sugar 'n Cream. Sadly, Lion Brand's excellent Kitchen Cotton appears to have been replaced with Cotton Ease. Size 8 knitting needles. Cast on 20 stitches. Row 1: Knit across, 20 stitches.

The Notes That Follow Sow. Cares melt when you kneel in your garden. Sunday, January 3, 2010. 2010 Goals for the Garden. I am "having goals" this year, rather than "making resolutions." Goals for my garden and in almost every area of my life. I figure I may not reach all the goals, but by striving to reach them, I'll almost certainly end up ahead of where I would have been without them. Here is my initial list of garden goals for 2010. Not all are vegetable garden related. Stick to the plan. Add a fourth...
