SPIRITS of Kentucky

Sunday, December 21, 2008. West Point, KY. South of Louisville, on Hwy 31W (known to the locals as Dixie Hwy), lies the town of West Point. From the highway, it doesn't appear to be anything but a few buildings and an old Hotel but if you take the time to drive through the town you will be amazed at the history documented on every street. You came down the Ohio River. The town was founded by James Young, a young Virginian. Today there is a river walk along the banks of the Ohio River named in honor o...

SPIRITS of Kentucky

http://spiritsofkentucky.blogspot.com/2008/11/cave-hill-cemetery-louisville-ky-this.html

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Cave Hill Cemetery, Louisville, KY. This is certainly one of the most amazing cemeteries I have ever visited. It was chartered by the General Assemby of Kentucky on February 5, 1848 for the purpose of operating a rural cemetery. The cemetery was dedicated in July of that year, and the transition of Cave Hill Farm into beautiful Cave Hill Cemetery began. As of 2006, there have been over 122,000 people interred on the grounds. Cave Hill is an outdoor museum with many hundreds...

SPIRITS of Kentucky: Why Kentucky?

http://spiritsofkentucky.blogspot.com/2008/11/why-kentucky.html

Sunday, November 30, 2008. Anyway, I did retire in January 2008, came back to Louisville and bought my dream home. The story doesn't end there because while I lived in St Petersburg, I got involved in paranormal investigation and once you start investigating, the questions that arise and the possible answers are endless. For anyone who is interested in the paranormal or just interested in the history of Kentucky, the SPIRITS of Kentucky hope to find and record some interesting information about the area.

My love of the visual arts, particularly photography. I will share my journey as I self-educate in this art, sharing my creations and talking about others creations that I admire. This week's shootout topic was suggested by Redlan at Redlan's Web of Arts. This is a wall of snow in the parking lot where I work. I think I've seen enough snow to last me four more winters! Unfortunat...

Live Creative; Live Better. Wednesday, May 27, 2015. Into my bones, a warm syrup. Monday, August 4, 2014. McAfee's Knob, Virginia. At the top of McAfee's Knob in Virginia.part of the Appalachian Trail. I did not find the hike easy but for an experienced hiker, it probably is not that hard. The view was well worth the work to climb the mountain. We also spent the night on the mountain after the hike. We slept well after all that up-slope walking!
