Where modern meets mediaeval. Built in 1269 for Eleanor de Monfort, sister of Henry 111, Spitalford is a stone built, detached holiday cottage. Set in a large garden, on the edge of Embleton village by the Northumberland coast. Recently refurbished to an exceptionally high standard Spitalford is a truly unique location for the discerning guest. Downstairs is a magnificent open plan living kitchen dining room, with original beams and inglenook fireplaces. There is a wood burning stove. Parking for two cars.

Maybe all are quails eggs, which I believe change colour (rather, the hen birds lay them in different colours) to suit the background. (Did I read that or am I making it up? I cant remember).
