As you probably have gleaned from previous posts, I love The Damnwells. They just came out with a new album. No One Listens To The Band Anymore. Which is available to purchase here. Here's a video of Alex Dezen performing the song "Werewolves," which is also great. (The video is done in one run-through of the song, from 4 camera angles.). SerialBox Presents: THE DAMNWELLS. This is the huge beige monstrosity that dictates the layout of our main living space. It will be leaving:. Oh, and the roommate also had a gigantic tv that he recently pushed into the entryway alcove because he doesn't have any friends to help him move it out (and he won't ask us.apparently he gets the impression that we don't care). Here is the ugly dining set that may be comfy, but is pretty much just over-sized and out of place:. And the countdown continues. Posted by trish t. Follow me on Twitter.

squared T: someone is happy it’s friday

http://www.squaredt.blogspot.com/2010/10/someone-is-happy-its-friday.html

Someone is happy it’s friday. As you can see, Jammer is very happy that the weekend is finally within reach. My parents are coming to visit – a working weekend, where I will use them to help me clean, paint, and move furniture. This means help for me and the man, and more love for the pets. And my parents get to see me, which makes them happy. Happy all around. Posted by trish t. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Follow me on Twitter. Shelfari: Book reviews on your book blog. Smalltown Me: February 2009

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html

Monday, February 16, 2009. Living in a small world, your life is very big. The minutia of the day to day consume your thoughts and the world revolves around one, blazing sun that is definitively you. Then one day you wake up and realize, you are actually not the center of the universe and that a great bit of activity is going on around you - a thought that can bring comfort, as well as isolation. This is the best the world has to offer? Something has to be done. Posted by Ms. Jane. The winter is making m...

Smalltown Me: July 2009

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Butter dish, the update. I need another "new" butter dish. Perhaps made of plastic. The second-hand glass butter dish I acquired earlier this spring met an unfortunate end last week. Presumably it was The Dog who knocked the butter dish off the counter Friday (it was during the 9 to 5 and there were no witnesses). When I came home after work, I discovered two monster glass shards on the living room floor, and smaller slivers in the kitchen. The butter was no more. The places where...

Smalltown Me: Why I dumped Facebook

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2010/07/why-i-dumped-facebook.html

Friday, July 9, 2010. Why I dumped Facebook. This article was published after I dumped Facebook, but it very nicely articulates the behaviors that I want to avoid. WASHINGTON: Americans are increasingly obsessed with Facebook and many young women check their page even before using the bathroom in the morning, according to a poll. Twenty-per cent admitted they sneak a peek at Facebook during the night while 26 per cent said they get up in the middle of the night to read text messages. July 10, 2010. Shelf...

Smalltown Me: June 2010

Tuesday, June 15, 2010. Because everyone likes it when I write about personal stuff like drugs. Not everyone believes in mental illness. Anxiety, depression, paranoia - these are merely the makings of the human mind. Take deep breathes, try yoga, just "think positive". Suck it up, Sally! But it's really not that simple. Weaning off the medication (I'm on month two of 30 mgs now) made me reflect on what life can be like without it. The same is true for anti-depressants. Ever hear of PMS? I think there are...

Smalltown Me: April 2009

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

Monday, April 20, 2009. Whose dumb idea was this? Oh yeah, mine…. News coverage at my paper lately has been far from comprehensive. Reduced staff, reduced hours and reduced morale are at least in part to blame – but was this publication ever able to provide the complete countywide coverage it so loudly proclaimed? I don’t know. Since then it has been a struggle to find the happy medium between the bad days and the good. I quietly made a list of our “perceived” coverage goals (those concocted ...I present...

Smalltown Me: Y is a very good question

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2010/04/its-fun-to-stay-at-y-m-c-is-lie.html

Thursday, April 15, 2010. Y is a very good question. I ventured over to one of the two local YMCAs today to see what they have to offer. The last time I'd visited a Y was when I was in fifth or sixth grade so it's been a while. A discounted membership at the Y is one of the few perks my employer affords so I thought I better at least check it out. It would be about $16/month cheaper than my current gym membership. Picking up on my discomfort, the kind woman said:. I'll check that one out tomorrow. I am a...

Smalltown Me: March 2009

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 29, 2009. Last August I made some life-altering decisions. I confronted fears, I said goodbye and I cried. Decisions are hard to make - and always involve taking a chance - even when it is not obvious. I knew I was taking a chance. After I took that chance, there was a period of adjustment, things were better than I expected; and then worse than anticipated. Now, I am living with the decisions that I made and the good and the bad that go with them. Posted by Ms. Jane. Follow me on Twitter.

Smalltown Me: September 2009

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html

Thursday, September 17, 2009. After meeting with my MD last week, I learned that I don't actually need a doctor's help to wean myself off of the antidepressant Paxil. I can do whatever I want; whatever method "works for me" to get off the drug. And in case it doesn't "work out" I have a year's worth of Paxil I can have refilled regularly at my local pharmacy. It's a Brave New World in medicine. You're likely to have a more meaningful exchange with the "Sandwich Artists" at Subway. Posted by Ms. Jane.

Smalltown Me: "talk" radio, other b.s.

http://smalltownme.blogspot.com/2010/07/talk-radio-other-bs.html

Thursday, July 29, 2010. Talk" radio, other b.s. The mainstream media is biased - that is what everyone says. Especially when it tells you what you don't want to hear. I understand why people think it, and even believe it, but all the same it's insulting. Do not count me among the Mark Bellings and Jessica McBrides of this world, opining unapologetically to anyone who will bend an ear. This is my code. This is a job I don't take lightly. Just another WordPress.com site. Bloggers, Bloggers, EVERYWHERE! In Media and the Market. Imagine sitting in a room with over 200 female bloggers. Crazy right? And it’s exactly what I’ve been doing for the past few days! I still consider myself quite the novice at blogging, but it doesn’t seem TOO difficult. You write what you think. That’s about it. Well, mostly, but there’s almost ALWAYS a goal in mind, or an area of expertise, or a common thread. This weekend has given me insight into a completely new...

Posted 1 year ago. So here I am, almost at the end of the journey. Six months of Squared Online has flown by! Still, one last assignment to get through, and it would prove the most challenging yet. Squared Thoughts

Random thoughts of Erik E, aka ESquared. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. On Conversion, Data Types, and Flawed Code. I came across the following expression recently:. DisplaySequence = Convert(int, IsNull(A.DisplaySequence, 10000). I was immediately struck by an inconsistency: the IsNull. Function is being passed an int. As its second parameter. That doesn't make sense. If the Convert. Is needed in the first place, then the DisplaySequence. Column is not int. Column will be converted to an int. Why does it ...
