regional writes: Bycatch by Morgana MacLeod

Monday, December 7, 2009. Bycatch by Morgana MacLeod. At the big round buoy that marked a drumline, Sam dropped anchor. Small waves lapped the cruiser’s hull as he pulled up the chain, careful not to foul the float rope and net lead that anchored the whole set up to the ocean floor. Sam grunted, ‘Big ‘un.’ Sweat beaded on his forehead and started to trickle down his back, despite the chill sea breeze. He stripped off his flannel shirt, down to a singlet, and went back to work. 8216;What the …? Images of ...

A Word a Day. Good words are worth a thousand pictures. Monday, December 24, 2012. Over a few days we managed to get 25 inches of. Snow on our hill! Yesterday there was a blizzard. Warning for most of the day. But then the snow stopped. And the sun came out and the snow began to melt and. Fall off of the trees. Today looks like it will be sunny! We need to clear our 2/10ths of a mile driveway so we can get OUT! Needless to say- the sunshine is very welcome! Labels: A Word a Day. View my complete profile.

Bricky's World: June 2012
http://brickysworld.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Thoughts and reflections from southern New Zealand. Tuesday, 19 June 2012. Signs in the Timaru Botanic Gardens, South Canterbury, New Zealand. OK, the signwriter stuffed up - twice - but wouldn't someone on the gardens staff have noticed and sent them back for correction? Apparently not, as I first spotted these errant signs three years ago and they're still in place. Links to this post. Saturday, 16 June 2012. Where does respect begin? Links to this post. http://regionalwrites.blogspot.com/2009/12/happy-campers-by-annabel-candy.html
Saturday, December 5, 2009. Happy Campers by Annabel Candy. Recently I camped in Coolum and discovered a small community on the verge of extinction. So I chatted to them, took photos. And wrote this story. Coolum Campsite is a great place to stay in the heart of Queensland's Sunshine Coast. If you can, stop by and visit the per...

Bricky's World: May 2012
http://brickysworld.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thoughts and reflections from southern New Zealand. Wednesday, 2 May 2012. Nature the Best Architect. Nature is the best architect and I don't rate at all. I planted this climbing rose ('Lady Barbara') and the Virginia Creeper in early Spring with the purpose in mind to hide an ugly fence. No thought given to the colour combination, but with the onset of Autumn, nature has provided a nice blend. Links to this post. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Subscribe To Bricky's World.
