http://steveanddonnastone.blogspot.com/2012/06/day-8.html
Monday, 4 June 2012. 4th Monday, Wind 4 mph, Temp 13 deg. 70 hours in the saddle, 691 miles covered. Doctor Foster went to Gloucester" and so did Steve and Donna but not "in a shower of rain". Better day today with mild weather conditions to lift the spirit. Kidderminster was the first stop with a small snack to be had at Wetherspoons. For small snack read, breakfast wrap for Donna and two plates of beans on toast for Steve. Yes I did say two. Second stop was to be a Costa coffee in Tewkesbury with cake!

The Way Ahead: The Final Day

Friday, 8 June 2012. 8th Friday, Wind 35 mph, Temp 16 deg. 92 hours in the saddle, 928 miles covered. Truro to Land's End. After a disturbing night with the rain lashing down making sleep difficult due to the noise through the thin skin of the Motorhome the last day started at 7:15 am. Like the previous day today's mileage was purposely reduced to 32 so as too ensure an arrival with energy levels high enough to appreciate the completion of this enormous challenge. Most scary moment - Bodmin Moor, travell...

Thursday, 7 June 2012. 7th Thursday, Wind 28 mph, Temp14 deg. 87 hours in the saddle, 896 miles covered. Sitting here listening to the radio and the Eurythmics singing "Here comes the rain again". Looking out of the window the rain is lashing down and has been all day. Today was to have been an easier day with only 50 miles to cover in preparation for tomorrows final day, unfortunately the weather decided to work against us with 50 miles feeling more like 500. Last day tomorrow - Can't wait. After eleven...

The Way Ahead: Day 10
http://steveanddonnastone.blogspot.com/2012/06/day-10.html
Wednesday, 6 June 2012. 6th Wednesday, Wind 11mph, Temp 17 deg. 81 hours in the saddle, 846 miles covered. Today's inclement weather did not arrive as strongly as the forecast indicated which should have been a blessing. The main difficulty was the constant change of clothing caused by a period of sunshine, too hot to wear wet weather gear, followed by a heavy rain shower requiring wet weather gear. Both Steve and Donna became frustrated by constantly having to change clothing. Two days to go, let us hop...

The Way Ahead: May 2012
http://steveanddonnastone.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
Thursday, 31 May 2012. 31st Thursday, Wind 6 mph, Temp 16 deg. 31 hrs in the saddle, 353 miles covered. Arrochar to New Cumnock. In comparison with Glen Coe we had expected today's journey to be easier than it was; maybe this was because the scenery was not as dramatic or maybe because a lot of the route was normal roads the whole day was quite difficult. Leaving Loch Lomond we were glad to be away from our friends the midges who were a pain in the - - the previous evening and night time. Our journey tom...

http://steveanddonnastone.blogspot.com/2012/06/day-9.html
Tuesday, 5 June 2012. 5th Tuesday, Wind 11 mph, Temp 13 deg. 70 hours in the saddle, 770 miles covered. Notice the road sign - What an apt name for the Stone family cyclists. 4am and the Motorhome starts to rock gently - Donna is gently stirring, not quite awake but on the way. 4:30am and the van is rocking - Donna is nearly fully awake, no sign of Steve yet. 5:15am and the van is now rocking vigorously and Donna is making her war down from the top bunk. Donna is up which is our cue to start the day.
