Last week we visited our old church – the one we attended 8 years ago. The pastor did a great job preaching out of Matthew. The interesting thing was that he was preaching through the book of Matthew when we left. At the time, he said that he intended on preaching on this book the rest of his ministry. July 11, 2012. Welcome to our Medieval Church of. StAndrew's Cubley, Derbyshire. The Church and the Manor house were mentioned in the Doomsday book in 1086, the remains of the of the Manor house moat can be seen across the road opposite the church. There is herringbone stone work on the north side of the church which may be Saxon in origin. The Tower of the Church was built in the reign of Henry VIII.
