Stoner Cellars: July 2009
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Friday, July 31, 2009. 2009 Vermont Brewers Festival. Back in 2002, I went to the Vermont Brewers Festival. A showcase for Vermont breweries of all sizes, from tiny little brewpubs to regional breweries (such as Magic Hat or Harpoon). I had a wonderful time, as every beer I tasted was worth trying, and I decided that I needed to go back someday. I can report that this year's festival was wonderful, too. Links to this post. Stoner Cellars: August 2011
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Tuesday, August 30, 2011. That's my front yard, after Irene. Maybe a half-dozen good sized branches, up five or six inches in diameter. But better than having the whole tree come down on my house, as it did for a couple of my neighbors. And now it's the Long Wait for Dominion to do something. Today is Day Four of the hurricane, and they have restored power to exactly one of the ten traffic lights along a four-mile stretch of Parham Road.

Stoner Cellars: February 2009
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2009_02_01_archive.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Sunday, February 22, 2009. If it's February, that must be a crocus. Time for the annual posting. This year's winner showed up on February 1. Its friends showed up in bunches about a week later. Links to this post. Wednesday, February 11, 2009. It may take fifty years, but it's good to see that an organization can come to its senses and apologize for its idiotic behavior. Links to this post. Monday, February 09, 2009. Well, that early in the a...

Stoner Cellars: September 2009
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Tuesday, September 15, 2009. Another minute of fame. I was in Iowa last month, for a family wedding. My first trip to Iowa since 1964, and while I imagine that it's changed a lot since then, I really wasn't paying all. Much attention to the state back then. A fun trip. While in Iowa City, I did a little sight-seeing, taking in the Amana colonies. And the Herbert Hoover presidential library/museum. And the self-styled "World's Largest. To try ...

Stoner Cellars: Did I mention? Dominion Power sucks.
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2003/09/did-i-mention-dominion-power-sucks.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Saturday, September 27, 2003. Yes, I'd like to know the estimated date I'll get power back." Oh, okay. She rummages around and brightly announces that the estimated date is October 3, next Friday. Thanks. And what does Dominion Power say? Most customers should have power by tomorrow night," says the state's major utility. Funny, that's not what they told me. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). About time to lose my power again, no?

Stoner Cellars: If you're going to wake us up, the least you can do is to bring us breakfast in bed.

A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Saturday, November 11, 2006. If you're going to wake us up, the least you can do is to bring us breakfast in bed. On the right, and her kitten Rebel. On the left. Rebel is now six months old, and I’m guessing that Mosby is about a year and a half. And they’re both available for adoption. Sami and O Henry will even kick in a bag of cat food to entice you to adopt them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Peter Jackson NOT directing The Hobbit.

Stoner Cellars: November 2008
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2008_11_01_archive.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Thursday, November 20, 2008. Bring out the kitsch! Welcome to the new age. There is nothing celebrating Obama's electoral victory that is so tacky that it cannot be made by someone and offered for sale. Okay, perhaps the only thing. Is that these things now are made with Obama's image, instead of someone else's. But the folks who make them still want you to fork over your hard-earned dollars for them. Links to this post. Stoner Cellars: Dominion Power strikes again.
http://stonercellars.blogspot.com/2003/09/dominion-power-strikes-again.html
A Fair and Balanced Look at the Life and Times of John Stoner. Sunday, September 28, 2003. Dominion Power strikes again. But there is one part of their operation they're doing well: they restored power to their billing department right away, as I got a bill from them yesterday. Once again: Thanks, Dominion Power! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). About time to lose my power again, no? Ten days without power. Or a shower. Dominion Power strikes again. And they offer a Ph.D. in basket-weaving.
