We had been practicing in the church for a few weeks before the big day finally arrived. Everyone had gone shopping to find new outfits so they could look their best on the day. About one week before we got our Christmas holidays from school, Mrs Tillman our class teacher made wreaths and candle arrangements with us in art. St Oliver Plunkett N. S. Newcastle Athenry. Tuesday, June 06, 2006. Our Patron Saint - St. Oliver Plunkett. Time Line of Main Events of his Life. He was born in Loughcrew in Co. Meath on the 1st. of November 1625. He was ordained a priest in Rome on the 1st. of January 1654. He was consecrated as bishop and appointed as Professor of Theology in Rome on the 23rd. of November 1669. He returned to Ireland after 23 years of exile abroad on the 7th of March 1670. His feast day is the 11th. of July.

My Dad and I went on a trip to Dublin. We visited the Natural History Museum and the Wax Museum. I saw the GPO and the Spire in O'Connell Street. We also went to the Aviva Stadium to see Ireland play Uruguay. Uruguay won 3-2. I sent a postcard to the class showing the Spire. It arrived the very next day! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
