The Flyin' Bobbin: This and That
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2016/03/this-and-that.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Friday, March 18, 2016. First off, I'd like to say that in the last post I mentioned that the entralac scarf structure was not very "giving". Well, that is not true! It is very pliable. I think it would. Make good socks or hats as it isn't firm at all. I don't know what I was doing that day, but it wasn't feeling my work! Rosa exploring the brook. She thought it was wonderful. Don't get excited about the green grass. That is a picture from ...

The Flyin' Bobbin: February 2014
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Friday, February 7, 2014. This week's snowfall left us with about 10 inches of lovely, fluffy new snow. It looks like winter now, for sure. I took the time while inside to do some much needed cleaning of areas and finishing of projects. My favorite was the blankie and bear for Ty and Alyssa's baby, due this month. Ty and Alyssa on their wedding day. Here is the baby gift. The middle is double knit which makes it reversible and warm. That was so...

The Flyin' Bobbin: March 2014
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Thursday, March 13, 2014. I have lived in New England all my life, so snow in March does not phase me. So having two days of snow, sleet and blustery cold wind from the north, is not unheard of. Second day, still snowing. That doesn't mean I am keen on it. Especially hard is the cold. It is only 9 degrees! That is what makes it so difficult. The wind, which I find is sort of hard to photograph, makes it feel much, much colder. Links to this post.

The Flyin' Bobbin: November 2014
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Saturday, November 29, 2014. In Case You Were Wondering. Last time I posted, O'Malley the cat was in the bathtub washing himself. That particular place for his daily ablutions only lasted a day or two. Since then he has spent the greater part of each day here:. The best place in the house. Here it is in photos:. Dye painted in one foot increments. Warp and weft hanging to dry. Warp in ball for easy wrapping of warping board. I learned that if I...

Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Wednesday, February 24, 2016. Source of hours of fun. And we did- although his is a different edition, the game is the same. Mine is like our lost one. Needing to celebrate, I invited the girls and their attendant families to a lunch and a Michigan Kitty day. It was great. It was such fun to have the family together. It makes us miss the Wisconsin couple. We definitely will be playing a game or two with them when next they come east. It is pour...

Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Friday, October 17, 2014. Making potting soil from compost, peat moss and dirt. This way I will have a good potting mix in the winter when I need it. Making the green house ready for the winter. The poor thing has taken such a beating over the years that I have to put plastic on it to keep it rain and wind proof. Making soup. It is actually butternut bisque. Those are toasted pecans on top. Very Yum. Tasty, tasty soup. Shades of brown and cream.

The Flyin' Bobbin: April 2014
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Friday, April 11, 2014. The chickens have finally finished their self appointed job of eating all the snow. We have bare ground now over 99% of the yard. It is fantastic. Roxie working on the snow, April 1. This is what they mostly worked on. The ice and snow mound, April 1. It only took ten days and they got it all. Every one pitches in. What a relief all around. The reason I saw her was really. With all that has been going on, I still am spin...

The Flyin' Bobbin: December 2013
http://flyinbobbin.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Musings about working with fiber, and living the rural life. Friday, December 27, 2013. Last One for the Year. It may be an indication of how busy I have been when I look to see my last post and it was the first day of November! Glo spinning at our little booth. It was pretty successful from our point of view. I had done four rugs for it and we sold three, which I thought was great. I also sold a shawl and a hat. My lovely alpaca and angora shawl. Of course we had to have Thanksgiving in there, somewhere!
