Aug 19, 2012. Hooray for another calm, cool August morning: I cannot WAIT for Fall! I looked forward to our walk each day last week, and Maisie and I both enjoyed the healing quiet and peace. I don't know if Maisie's stroller resembles a large slow animal or not, but it seems. To have the unusual effect of slowing our wildlife down. This Great Blue Heron. Stayed put far longer than I expected. And this White-tailed Deer (one of a pair) allowed us to come close enough for. Links to this post. Aug 11, 2012.

Apr 4, 2014. We went for a little walk today down by the ELC, on the Poudre River Trail. I realized halfway through that we could stop by the feedlot, and that this would be good fun. For Maisie. Nothing too exciting, and the lens or I (or both) can no longer focus, but it felt really nice to get out :). GBH on the way in. Very entertaining Osprey making rounds gathering. Sticks for his platform nest. Mergansers, far away, safe and sound. Song Sparrow sang to us all along our stroll. Over, and over?

Friday, July 9, 2010. Quilting with dinnerware - FINISHED! Well - the first project is finished, anyway. This is going to turn into another hobby, I'm afraid. The mirror frame turned out just lovely, if I do say so myself. I spent the July 4 weekend with a bunch of friends starting some NEW projects with the leftover dishes, and whatever pieces of wood were lying around. We now have trivets, a couple of new picture frames, and other great things in our little group of creative friends. Links to this post.

Friday, July 16, 2010. New mosaics . getting better every time. Instead of needle pokes in my fingers I now have cuts on my fingers from grouting. And they really hurt! I guess it's something about smearing dirt and sand inside a cut that makes it instantly sting. They last longer than needle sticks too. This next one is a little better. The colors are more muted and I didn't use the baubles on the front of the piece. It's the same size as the sun, but more 'peaceful' colors. Links to this post. New mosa...

Friday, June 11, 2010. Ahhh a cool weekend ahead. The Lyons Studio Tour is over, and I had about 20 people come "all the way up here" each day. It was really nice. There were of course some people who know quilting well, and it was great to talk to them and get some new ideas. I think I introduced the new art quilting to some folks too. This weekend promises to be rainy and cool. Just what the doctor ordered! A mosaic workshop is planned for Saturday with Susan Wechsler. Links to this post. Chrome Beta f...

What Laurie Loves: Cats, Quilts, Casablanca, and More: A week of vacation - Marrakesh and the Riad Ambre et Epices
http://whatlaurieloves.blogspot.com/2014/05/a-week-of-vacation-marrakesh-and-riad.html
Wednesday, May 28, 2014. A week of vacation - Marrakesh and the Riad Ambre et Epices. The most beautiful place we stayed. This riad is down twisty empty alleys - we were sure we were being taken somewhere to be shot and never seen again. What a gem! The people who work here are, as usual, incredibly friendly. There's nice music playing in our courtyard in the mornings and afternoons, and we have breakfast on the roof terrace. June 24, 2014 at 2:34 PM. This comment has been removed by the author.

Sep 1, 2013. If Only it were Fall. The temps were below 90 this morning, so OUT we went. Warning: Not too many bird photos below; Running Deer just isn't the same since they drained the pond. Quiet and peaceful and I'll take it. Birding with a toddler is funny anyhow. (Playground birding anyone? I see a Crow.") And the birds seem sort of unimpressed as we come tumbling along singing "Ring Around a Rosie.". Anyhow. Bullfrog: Maisie didn't notice, since he was sitting very still. Links to this post.
