After the gallery exhibition, I trekked it across town to play in the weekly 4th Street Poker Tour Event. I showed up 30 minutes late (and looking rather dapper), but luckily had yet to be blinded out of any chips. He United States did its best to convince cynics and anti-Americans everywhere that it may still be years away from competing with the world's top teams, falling 3-0 in its World Cup opener to the Czech Republic Monday. Tomas Rosicky added another to the books with a beautiful bending shot before the break. He would add another late goal to make it 3-0. Everything about this performance was awful.

Recalls, special elections, California just loves to vote on things. Today marked no less than the fifth voting day since I moved to the Golden State in the Summer of 2003. Voter fatigue is a major concern. Truthfully, the entire decision of whether or not to vote in this primary election hinged solely on the location of my polling place.
