There is ample free parking on site for cars and cycles. For the Rail Gala and Open Day a free historic bus service. Will be running between Tinkers Park, Buxted, Uckfield and Mark Cross. Home of the Claude Jessett Collection. 51st Annual Steam Engine Rally. June 4th and 5th 2016. Organised by Tinkers Park Ltd. Enjoy the family atmosphere of this famous steam rally. The two days are filled with sights and sounds that will delight your senses. See engine drivers and their steersmen compete in the 'Judge the Width' competition. Ride on 'The Great Bush' narrow gauge railway. Stalls selling clothes, tools, auto jumble, bric-a-brac and collectables. Arena Events throughout the afternoon.

What is known is that Claude Jessett, his wife Joyce, and some of their friends, constructed a steam powered model railway in their garden at Tinkers Park in the 1950’s. Motor Rail and Tramcar Co. Our annual model railway exhibition and narrow gauge railway gala is an extremely popular event for children and adults alike. We always aim for that little bit extra, with traction engine trailer rides, music in the Organ Museum and a bus special on the Sunday the event really has earned the plus in the title!
