Tales From The Inside. Monday, March 26, 2007. Chapter Fourteen: The End of an Era. So I feel like I'm getting pretty close to getting caught up on my life. Next post should be in real time. Woo! Okay, so when I left off, my phone had rang. I was doing my unpaid internship, and loving it. I had been looking for paying jobs, but was quite content to stay were as was, knowing that it was a matter of time before I could actually get paid. It was early March of last year. Tales From The Inside: June 2006

http://www.talesfromtheinside.blogspot.com/2006_06_01_archive.html

Tales From The Inside. Wednesday, June 28, 2006. Chapter Eight: Please Tell Me I Didn't Peak as a Sophomore in College! This chapter is titled, "Please Tell Me I Didn't Peak as a Sophomore" for good reason. I actually need someone assure me I didn't peak as a sophomore! I had never been a shoe-in for anything! And people I didn't know knew my name. That was one of the most unexpected things. People would come up to me and be like, "You're Betsy, right? Once again, that dialogue scene got me attention and...

Tales From The Inside: Chapter Five: Disillusionment

http://www.talesfromtheinside.blogspot.com/2006/06/chapter-five-disillusionment.html

Tales From The Inside. Saturday, June 17, 2006. Walking down Main Street, the affectionate nickname for the main strip through the film school, I was excited to learn there was a Krispy Kreme and a Wachovia. ("A bank switch may be in order," was one of my first thoughts. "Danger! This great package that I was getting, was it just as fake as the plastic street lamps? I know, I know, "get a little self-confidence woman! But it's scary. It's scary to "have it all figured out" or at least think you do&#4...

Tales From The Inside. Saturday, June 17, 2006. Chapter Two: An Opportunity. You get the drive, you acquire the ambition, you devote yourself to figuring out where you belong in the process, and then what? I was sixteen when I seriously started to consider filmmaking as a career. It seemed so glamourous and dignified. It was like this was something I could do and be proud of how I spent my life. The nature of the business is very private. Security and gates keep the outside world, outside. View my comple...

Tales From The Inside: Chapter Six: Let Me Take A Minute...

http://www.talesfromtheinside.blogspot.com/2006/06/chapter-six-let-me-take-minute.html

Tales From The Inside. Saturday, June 17, 2006. Chapter Six: Let Me Take A Minute. And you make a movie, and no one has the balls to say they don't get it or the acting is bad and the story is, well, not a story. Because when you're in the middle of it all, it's hard to step back and be like, "What would people who I've never met think? What would they enjoy? This is where the line between pros and cons of film school gets blurry. Some graduates think, "Hey I've directed movies at film school! You know, ...

Tales From The Inside: Prelude To A Dream

http://www.talesfromtheinside.blogspot.com/2006/06/prelude-to-dream.html

Tales From The Inside. Saturday, June 17, 2006. Prelude To A Dream. I'm currently working in the entertainment industry as an editor. It's been a long journey, and I know I have a long way to go. As disillusioned as I am, I still find the fact that I'm doing what I've been dreaming about forever, amazing. That said, I'll let my journey begin. Enjoy. This image is from a book written by one of my old professors. The Practical Art of Motion Picture Sound by David Yewdall. Labels: in the beginning.

Human Inspired: So That Happened

http://humaninspired.blogspot.com/2010/01/every-now-and-then-something-happens.html

Sunday, January 17, 2010. I finally snapped out of it enough to go see just WTF had happened. Mind you, this is only like 10 seconds later. And I go around the car where the rest of the group is and see a biker moaning and standing up and Gina staring with wide eyes. She's alive! Holy shit, it was scary. I immediately scan the area for damage to people and property and someone grabs the bike out of the street and someone on the other side says "This is the second time I've seen that this week!

Also, my mom just called and said she thinks she has appendicitis. She's drinking the contrast stuff now and has a test at 2:45 est. She sounds so sad! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Monday, August 25, 2008. Unemployed and finally getting some things off my to-do list. Here's the oil pastel pic I did this week! Not the best photo, but I'm pretty happy with it! Wednesday, August 13, 2008. Are You Watching The Olympics? It's my favorite time of four years. Summer Olympics. Here are my thoughts. I'm not feeling the synchronized diving thing. Men's gymnastics was breath-taking! And how adorable is Alexander Artemev? What a fantastic opportunity! Swimming is where it is at this year!

Human Inspired: Why I Limped Off The Elevator

http://humaninspired.blogspot.com/2009/01/why-i-limped-off-elevator.html

Thursday, January 01, 2009. Why I Limped Off The Elevator. No, I wasn't hurt! It kinda seemed like it, and that's not what I had planned at all. Anyway, today is New Year's Day, 09! My bedroom isn't quite finished because I was waiting for my friend to finish the whale on my wall. Yes, you read that correctly. Anyway, I should get to cleaning and germ fighting. Happy New Year and here's to not caring who knows you are lazy! This comment has been removed by a blog administrator. View my complete profile.

Human Inspired: June 2008

http://humaninspired.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html

Tuesday, June 24, 2008. I'm Sore.and Bruised.and Tired. In other news, I went to The Abbey in West Hollywood for dinner and drinks on Saturday and a newly married gay couple walked in. The whole place erupted into cheers and clapping and it was such a wonderful moment that tears pricked my eyes. My parents are coming to stay with me this weekend, actually sleep in my apartment and everything, and I'm thinking it will be a good weekend if it doesn't end in divorce or manslaughter. Saturday, February 07, 2009. Apparently there are worse things than getting bad notes! Thank you world for that discussion we had. I'm proven wrong. Again. Yes, thank you. Sorry just a little "You're right, I'm wrong" message I had to send out to the universe. Now to the good stuff. Okay so I love Televisionwithoutpity.com and read it on the regular. Tales from the Hutt. A signpost for my adventures. The Place to start (The beginning). 03-June-2016, A game of archery tag! July 19, 2016. Anyways, this Friday was off, and there was a company event planned – Archery Tag! I’d seen the planned events a few times before… “learn to cook with the CEO”, “Bike around the Gorge”, that sort of stuff that I honestly wasn’t super interested in. But archery tag…. I’m not bitter, I swear. Yeah… I maybe should had led with that? Two instances, specifically…. First, a...

Tales from the Hutt. A signpost for my adventures. The Place to start (The beginning). Leaving California behind, and driving up the Oregon coast. August 12, 2015. Another driving post that’s the key to a good adventurous road trip. You’ve got balance the opposing ideals of exploration and movement. Granted, you could say Ohh, but driving IS exploring! But… you’d be wrong. Even driving down small-town roads, through hamlets and past cafes, is still driving. We passed through lots of small towns but not t...
