Kathryn McPhee: June 2011
http://kathrynmcphee.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Saturday, 25 June 2011. Wellington Winter Champs 2011. It's been a very long time since I competed. I really struggle for motivation in the meantime. Our last competition was eight months ago (if you don't count the depth comp that I very diligently sat out of and just participated as the safety diver). Here is the video. Sorry it's not very exciting viewing! Unfortunately I felt a bit exhausted after the dive and it showed on my dynamics that followed. I managed 156m with the monofin (must start tra...

Kathryn McPhee: First event – Dynamic without fins heats
http://kathrynmcphee.blogspot.com/2011/10/first-event-dynamic-without-fins-heats.html
Monday, 10 October 2011. First event – Dynamic without fins heats. Start they seemed to have improved but the buzzer remains. All commentary is in Italian and so loud that all you can hear is an echoing noise as opposed to any concise words. Divers even need their coach to assist with relaying the countdowns as they can not hear the numbers poorly enunciated by an Italian speaker in a pool of echoes. Kiwi team: Chris Marshall, me, Guy Brew. Thanks, very nice to read! Love, Courage and Water! In early 200...

Tuesday, 28 September 2010. Cressi World Record Challenge. 25-28 September 2010, Naenae and Porirua Pools, Wellington, New Zealand. We were coming up to Wellington anyway for Simon's mum's exhibition. Opening on Friday so we stuck around for the competition - worth a try. Friday, 3 September 2010. Wellington Winter Champs 2010. I went up there not expecting too much from myself. One pool session a week and a couple of dry breath holds don't really account to enough training in my mind. Anyway, th...Full ...

Where in the world is Laura: The Grand National
http://laurs10.blogspot.com/2009/04/grand-national.html
Where in the world is Laura. Keeping up to date with all my travels. Thursday, April 9, 2009. I've spent the last five days telling this story to about 15 different doctors, 20 nurses, a dozen patients and that's just the beginning now I'm home, so you understand I'm somewhat over it. I was helping run a tour to the Grand National in Liverpool and I got crushed by our tour bus. But they finally released me yesterday and my boss drove up from London to pick me up. So that's it. It sounds a lot worse t...

Where in the world is Laura. Keeping up to date with all my travels. Monday, May 18, 2009. A few day trips and a BBQ. Sorry for the silence on the blogging front. believe it or not I've been quite busy while recovering from my wee accident. So where we last left off I had just exited this place. I've actually been healing very quickly. it's been 6 weeks and yesterday I attempted my first jog / run. Painful yes. but I managed. But in the meantime I haven't let a broken pelvis or two slow down my fun.
