January 4th, 2013. We just got a new addition to our farm. She is a 5 month old Turkish Kangal puppy to help guard the sheep from coyotes and cougars. Her disposition is fantastic and she is good with the sheep already. We named her Margarita (Margie for short). She also loves our little girl Shelby and is fitting right in to her role and our farm! Waiting for spring…. March 5th, 2013. It has been a fairly slow winter with decent weather and a good amount of snow for moisture…We have had a few lambs born already (some ‘oops’ breedings) but the lambs are doing well. Typically we like to lamb out on pasture but every once in a while the rams get into a pen they are not supposed to be and we end up with a few early lambs…. Waiting for spring…. Our sheep are just as unique as the rest of our mixed ranch. We raise 2 different breeds, Katahdins and Dorpers. Both of these breeds are known as hair sheep .
