Red Fox Tails: April 2008
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Wednesday, April 30, 2008. I'm off to Portland to DJ this Saturday, then I'm heading to Korea to DJ in Seoul and Daejeon. As normal, just before a big DJ trip, I'm up late adding a few new tunes to my collection. Here's the view from the "cockpit" (click on the photo for a close-up):. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Red Fox Tails
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2009/06/after-foundation-was-sealed-and.html
Monday, June 1, 2009. After the foundation was sealed and insulated with 2" of rigid insulation, we dug up the sewer line, which has a history of freezing up most winters to see if we could find anything wrong with it. We found that it's only buried about 2 ft deep at the street, with no insulation! Given that Anchorage's frost depth can go to 10 ft, this is a complete joke. So we put 6" of insulation above the pipe at the street, tapering to 4" the remainder of the way to the house. Peak a Week (Billy).

Red Fox Tails: May 2008
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2008_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 26, 2008. Round 'n round Dew Mound. In the process we found this cliff on the north side of the valley that demands further exploration:. Looking at the cliff, Bryce and I weren't too psyched - very steep, typically tricky non-straightforward Chugach face climbing, and one party gave us the line up confirming that it was all 5.10 and up. After hemming and hawing we finally decided to give one a shot, and surprise! Sunday, May 18, 2008. Final blast in Korea. Bottom line is that I met some very...

Red Fox Tails: Delta 14" Bandsaw Rebuild
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2010/01/delta-14-bandsaw-rebuild.html
Tuesday, January 26, 2010. Delta 14" Bandsaw Rebuild. Note: I'm writing this for those who can benefit from what I learned, not for those who know nothing about bandsaws. Descriptions are brief, if this is not your thing, this isn't for you! First up: The blade tensioner is a notorious patience-tester and hard on the hands:. So I decided to add a small crank and handle to the knob to make it easier and more comfortable to turn:. Get longer bolts and bolt the saw firmly to the stand. Next up, level the mo...

Red Fox Tails: Foundation work
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2009/05/foundation-work.html
Sunday, May 24, 2009. Hmmm, looks like Dan has a gopher problem? Yeah, Keith is the gopher! Time to dig up my foundation so I can seal it. It leaks a bit of water during every runoff or other heavy water event. Scraping the old sealant off was dirty, grueling work. All scraped and wire-brushed clean, ready for primer:. After priming, applying the PolyGuard, and mastic:. The back-side of the house pretty much done:. My "stairs" for the past few days:. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Peak a Week (Billy).

Red Fox Tails: February 2008
http://redfoxtails.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Friday, February 29, 2008. Had my highly anticipated left knee surgery this morning. This injury is the possible result of a particular mountain run last summer and has been bothering me a lot ever since, especially on long days in the mountains. It went quickly - I arrived at the hospital at 6:45am and was back home before noon already planning climbing trips for the summer! It's cool to look at all the pictures of the tendons, etc. they took - the quality is amazing! Mom, I wanna go skiing! Plus I'll s...

Sunday, June 8, 2008. Monday, June 2, 2008. Now I feel like summer has started! A group of us climbed Eagle Peak, one of the BIG peaks in the Eagle River valley.
