A transplant from The Big Apple in The Big Easy joining a Second Line and being chased by crawfish. Le Diner en Blanc New Orleans 2015. It was the most beautiful site under a beautiful sky and calm breeze. On Saturday, May 9, hundreds of people dressed in their most elegant blanc (white) attire filled out the Riverwalk in downtown New Orleans for the 3rd annual Diner en Blanc. But others definitely put a lot more thought into their table decorations…. All white didn’t have to mean all plain. Fl...It was ...

Day 10: New Orleans, Part I - Jeanne Bogino

Day 10: New Orleans, Part I - Jeanne Bogino. Day 10: New Orleans, Part I. JAMBALAYA, ÉTOUFFÉE and MUSIC IN THE STREETS. To get to New Orleans you don’t pass through anywhere else. That geographical location, being aloof, lets it hold onto the ritual of its own pace more than other places that have to keep up with the progress. After a five and a half hour drive, we hit New Orleans at about 10:30 pm. That’s normally my bedtime, but we were in NOLA! On a Saturday night! Don’t stand alone on a street corner!

Enjoying Life thru Music. Monthly Archives: July 2014. Layla meets Nola, and James Brown’s 5 Essential Dance Moves. July 26, 2014. Great video of Eric Clapton and Wynton Marsalis performing a Nolafied version of Layla. Mr. Clapton generally doesn’t speak much when performing. His opening dialogue lasting two minutes-fifty four seconds is equivalent to him giving the Gettysberg address. This alone is worth the video, the music is an outstanding bonus! It was later released as a DVD. Have a great weekend!

An Ebenezer of Sorts. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Family Reunion at "The Falls". I think I got a half smile on Ryan! A very typical Mckenzie look. http://littlekitchie.blogspot.com/2014/09/pappardelle-with-lamb-ragu.html
Tuesday, September 23, 2014. Pappardelle with lamb ragu. We spent the past weekend in New Orleans, taking in the sounds of the streets ( they. Are my favorite), the beautiful architecture. And - of course - the incredible food. Every meal in New Orleans feels like a stand-out meal, but our best one this trip was dinner at La Petit Grocery. Every dish we had there was delicious (blue crab beignets, what? Including a handmade pappardelle with braised lamb that was to. die. for. Pappardelle with Lamb Ragu.
