Just another WordPress.com site. Monthly Archives: September 2011. First draft: Male Advertisements. September 28, 2011. Men on the cover of advertisements and products created the ‘shock and awe’ value people weren’t expecting. This surprising new trend came by storm and captured the audience. People aren’t used to seeing a ‘pretty boy’ on the front cover advertising something they regularly buy. When this first started happening people didn’t know what to think; were they gay? It says to women hey need a hugor more? Klein found the poses the ‘rock’ and the ‘leaner’ as the sexual calling of every photo. The Rock and the Lean are seen on advertisements and magazines everywhere. Although there is an extreme gap in time of when both Bordo’s and Berger’s essays were written, why are they both saying the same thing?
