Perspective: Finding Balance
http://amycchow.blogspot.com/2015/03/finding-balance.html
It's all how you look at it. Sunday, March 22, 2015. Guilted me that I have been lagging in my blog posts. I didn't even recap the Austin half marathon! Which, coincidentally, was the last time I felt above water in trying to do everything and doing everything well. Let's summarize the mileage first. WW07: 30.5 miles (included the Austin half). WW09: 27.7 miles. WW10: 5.6 miles (got a stress cold, only ran 1x). WW11: 32.1 miles. WW12: 42.4 miles. Next, summary of life events. Next week is the first race&...

It's all how you look at it. Saturday, January 7, 2012. I've moved myself back here. Didn't want to pay for a domain that I don't really use. Plus, this has got all the good past race reports. Currently on rest as I recovery from hernia surgery. We'll see how long this lasts. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). It's all how you look at it. Tuesday, December 23, 2014. 2014 sort of feels like the season where I tried really hard (too hard at times) and didn't really go anywhere. Like spinning my wheels for the most part. A-, I completed the entire distance with no major issues, but nothing to write home about. C , Criteria of not finishing certainly did not pass, but I got to spend time with friends I don't see that often. Pretty original finisher's medal. B, Toughest race I've done so far, did not meet expectati...

Perspective: July 2014
http://amycchow.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
It's all how you look at it. Friday, July 18, 2014. The last time I'd done this was race was in 2008. And for comparison's sake, back then I had also done it 2 weeks after BSLT 70.3. The day after I did this race I fell on the way to a sculling lesson with Karla and (I think) started the chain reaction of left knee injuries that pop up every now and then. Time comparisons, then and now:. Overall: 1:23:53 / 1:13:15. Swim: 20:11 (2:31/100m avg) / 12:15 (1:32/100m avg). T1: 2:53 / 2:37. T2: 1:17 / 1:34.

It's all how you look at it. Tuesday, January 18, 2011. Out of the box. Saturday, January 15, 2011. The No Motivation Flu. Or something like that. Maybe it was the 7 straight crazy days where my stress level just went up and up and up. I've found I don't deal with stress well. Maybe it's because I have no Ironman on the calendar this year and my only reason for working out is to not get fat. I need a half iron to do. I'm debating Boise, but I hate cold water. Or maybe I'm just a bum. 07/10 - Death Ride.

The Adventures of PONCHO™: Joe Rogan
http://tabmoc19.blogspot.com/2015/01/joe-rogan.html
The Adventures of PONCHO™. This is my various rants/ravs, training and other things not covered elsewhere. Friday, January 09, 2015. Joe Rogan gets it. I have heard many people talk bad against him whether it is about his marijuana usage, aliens or his UFC commentating. I have to say IMO he is a very enlightened person on many aspects of life outside jiu-jitsu and MMA and he is worth listening to with an open mind. But when it comes to Jiujitsu he gets it and this video shows just that. Song of the Week.

http://amycchow.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
It's all how you look at it. Thursday, August 7, 2014. A race, a trip, and trying to find my stride again. Fun fact: this was the first race Mike and I both did last year. It was the day after our second date, not sure if it counts as our actual third date, but it was the third time we saw each other. There had definitely been improvement in my race results from 2012 to 2013, and then there was this year. Field was decidedly not stacked this year. First in my age group and third female overall. 06/10 - B...

It's all how you look at it. Sunday, February 8, 2015. Another week with lots of work. and 15.5 hrs of training! I definitely feel like I am reaping the effects of 6 weeks of consistent training, running especially. However, I think staying around 13-14 hrs of training per week is a better balance with all things considered. 325 miles run for the week. Definitely on track. Next weekend is the Austin Half Marathon with Jocelyn. Sunday, February 1, 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). View my complete profile.

http://amycchow.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html
It's all how you look at it. Sunday, August 29, 2010. It really is about the mindset for IM. If you go into race day doubting yourself, doubting you finishing, then you're done. You will not make it. You gotta think positive and you gotta believe in yourself. I found that out the hard way today. Got onto the bike, slowly spun my way out of town. The first 40 miles I did at a nice 20 mph. It went through the small towns south of Penticton, including Oliver, where the really sweet massage therapist...I thi...
