http://ironmantrish2009.blogspot.com/2009/09/trish-hylton-you-are-ironman.html
Thursday, September 3, 2009. Trish Hylton, You are an Ironman! Where do I begin? Well, I've accomplished the impossible.I am an Ironman. I've written the below race recap in order to capture every possible memory. I realize that this is the longest blog entry in the history of blogs, so I've broken it into parts for those of you that just want to get to the point. I've also included lots of pics for people like my sister who would rather look at pics than read every last detail. Enjoy! The youngest racer...

My Journey to Iron(wo)man Louisville: May 2009

Tuesday, May 26, 2009. Week 28: Retiring a Helmet and Assessing the Damage. The group was nice enough to let me join in their pace line. This was both challenging and fun for me, because triathletes don't train in pace lines due to the fact that drafting is illegal during triathlons. And then I was eating dirt. It happened that quickly. Condition: Stiff, sore, bruised, scraped, and a tad bit cranky. Tuesday, May 19, 2009. Week 27: Tour of Napa. Condition: A little dehydrated. Monday, May 11, 2009. The bi...

Sunday, January 25, 2009. Week 11: Louie Bonpua Memorial Triathlon. On Sunday, January 25th, we raced in an Olympic distance trithlon on Treasure Island in honor of Louie Bonpua. Louie embodied everything Team in Training is about: Finding a cure for cancer, pushing yourself beyond your boundries, and living life to the fullest. We carry his memory in our commitment to fundraise money and accomplish the impossible. Check out the below video! We finished in exactly 3 hours. The race itself was fantastic!

Friday, July 31, 2009. Week 37: Triple Brick and Catfish Crawl. On Saturday, I tackled the infamous triple brick workout. On Sunday, Tami and I drove down to Cupertino for the Catfish Crawl, a 2.4 mile swimming race in the Stevens Creek Reservoir. It was supposed to be a special race, because the reservoir is only open to swimmers once a year. I could have cared less, I was exhausted! Condition: Exhausted, but feeling great about what I've accomplished so far. I am 86% of the way to my fundraising goal!

On Saturday, I met up Team Shadow, the best Tri Club on the planet, for a leisurely 30 miles in the Oakland hills. Hills never feel leisurely, but nonetheless, I appreciated the quality time with good folks. Condition: Enjoying the recovery. Monday, April 20, 2009. Week 23: Focus Week - Biking. I'm 51% of the way to my fundraising goal! What an amazing week! The la...

Sunday, February 22, 2009. Week 15: Finding my Pace. Sunday, February 15, 2009. Week 14: Iron University - Nutrition. This week I really tried to focus on what I'm eating. I attempted to put myself on a strict eating plan to see if I could burn fat faster. The eating plan limits certain thigs - sugar, alcohol, dairy, and red meat. So what's left? Sunday, February 8, 2009. Week 13: The Balancing Act. Try to plan evening social activities for Sunday or Monday nights (the new Friday/Saturday). Heather and J...

Sunday, December 21, 2008. Week 6: Calorie Depletion and Training the Mind - Coach Wayne's World is not so excellent. Unless you have less than 2% body fat, Coach Wayne guarantees that his calorie depletion workout will not kill you. He was right, but I was lucky Dennis didn't kill me when I got home, because calorie depletion makes me very very cranky, even after I've eaten. At noon, we took at 20 minute break for lunch, Yes! Condition: Hungry like a wolf. Sunday, December 14, 2008. Our IronTeam spin se...
