Wednesday, March 20, 2013. I've got a few trips out over the coming weeks and months, so thought it might be useful to let people know about them. If you live nearby and would like me to sign your book, draw you a skull and crossbones or tell you a pirate yarn, pop along. I may even have my pirate hat on. Monday, April 02, 2012. The Waterstones Children's Book Award! So, no posts for weeks and weeks and then two come along at once. That was a bit like last Wednesday evening, when 'The Pirates! In an Adventure With Scientists' was officially on general release, and Waterstones held their annual Children's Book Award at their flagship store in London's Piccadilly. Thursday, October 06, 2011. The Pirates Next Door'. My new book 'The Pirates Next Door' was published last Saturday! Available in all good book stores now! The Pirates next Door' is published in hardback by Templar Publishing. I would've posted on Saturday, but I was reading 'The Pirate Cruncher' at Bath Children's Literature Festival. Monday, June 06, 2011. I took a day off on Wednesday, to dismantle a rotten shed my dad had moved from house to house since the 1970s. With the help of my friend David, we attempted to build a new one, only to disturb a bees nest in the process, and realise that the shed floor didn't fit the wooden base. So we each had a nice big bottle of beer in the sunshine instead. Then it was off to Hay-on Wye on Thursday for my first ever appearance at the wonderful Hay Festival. And Ed Vere ( 'Banana'.

Friday, May 06, 2011. For the last three and a half years, I've been working with Aardman Features. On a new stop-motion movie about pirates, based on the hilarious series of books (honestly, they're brilliant, buy a copy. By Gideon Defoe. This has taken up a big chunk of my life since early 2008, and I've designed a load of characters for the film. It's been the best experience, and I've loved every minute. Friday, June 01, 2012. I will be appearing at the Hay Festival next Wednesday! This will be my second year at the festival, and I'm very excited to be returning. I had a brilliant time last year, with an event full of mini-pirates who ran amok in the Starlight tent, followed by an interesting night out with two of my favourite children's book authors, Adam Stower. Rather too much red wine was qouffed in one particular book shop. Your book was published in Turkey.My daughter and I loved your book.
