Temple University Rome

July 10, 2015. One of the last times I’ll look out over my balcony. My last day in Rome is finally here. Forty-two days sounds a lot longer when you are waiting to board a plane to a foreign country than when you actually live through it. I am excited to go home, but very sad to leave this country. But on the pros and cons list of leaving, Wawa hoagies are a pretty big item so it’s not that bad. Before I left for Rome, I was reading humorist David Sedaris’ book. Me Talk Pretty One Day. July is here. | Temple University Rome

https://templerome.wordpress.com/2015/07/01/july-is-here

July 1, 2015. There are little moments when it dawns on me that I’m going to be leaving Rome soon. Somewhere in my mind, it occurred to me that as horrible as the metro can get, I was actually going to miss it: the strange little songs that play in the station, the musicians that sway slightly on the moving train as they play violins and clarinets and accordions. Have I learned enough about the city? I have absolutely no idea. And has studying abroad changed me as a person? I feel like there’s definitely...

Monthly Archives: May 2015. May 27, 2015. After living here for only 5 days, how do I even begin to describe Roma? My head is still spinning from the fragrant assortment of artistry and peculiarity that graces this city. There are the obvious landmarks: the wide, teal. That flows across the street from campus; the expansive and bustling Piazza del Popolo, which holds a concoction of regal stone buildings and stylish shopping centers. Weaving among tiny cars, sleek bicycles, and innocent pedestrians, Vesp...

Stumbling Upon Excellence | Temple University Rome

June 17, 2015. Street Station ever will. Obelisk near Piazza Spagna. The fact that it’s been almost a month also instills an ever-so-slight sense of panic. Have I appreciated Rome enough so far? Have I explored enough of it? Non-Catholic Cemetery of Rome. This question was still in the back of my mind when I took the metro to the southern side of the city to get material for an article assignment for. Filed under Angela Gervasi. Blogger - Summer 2015. Food and Italian Culture: A Perfect Combination | Temple University Rome

Food and Italian Culture: A Perfect Combination. June 17, 2015. It feels ridiculous to write about living in Rome and not talk about the food, so here goes. I could easily go on and on about how fresh everything is and how many different pizza toppings there are and how you can find the strangest gelato flavors here, but I’d like to look at it from a slightly different perspective. Real Italian pizza- eaten with a knife and fork! Filed under Angela Gervasi. Blogger - Summer 2015. Enter your comment here.

Less of a tourist than before. | Temple University Rome

https://templerome.wordpress.com/2015/06/24/less-of-a-tourist-than-before

Less of a tourist than before. June 24, 2015. It’s a thought that comes to mind with ease when you spot loud English speakers on the metro:. Ugh, tourists. Can’t stand them. I’ve heard it from others; I’ve thought it myself. Who actually likes tourists? From a young age, I knew how to spot people in Philly who clearly weren’t from Philly: the Ride-The-Duck customers who created a deafening off-key symphony with their quacking whistles, the wanderers in Center City who wanted to know where in the world 14.

Temple University in Spain. Just another WordPress.com site. First Impressions of Oviedo. July 16, 2015. It’s crazy to think I have officially been in Spain for 2 weeks now. Time flies! Living In Japan, Part I. July 8, 2015. A normal day at Hiyoshi Station (after most of the crowd had already boarded the train! A frankly ridiculous amount of soba, for less than 400! The food can also vary in price wildly. I regularly pay no more than 600 for lunch, or about $5, but this is for lunches from convenience stores (which are, amazingly, full meals rather than the junk food you find in American stores). At some restaurants, though, I’ve paid upwards of $30 for a meal! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
