A blog with no pictures…. But maybe a thousand words. Not quite 1000 words on walking. On more than one occasion, I have seen a book entitled. For me, walking is a measure of independence. This was brought home to me when I met someone who was born without either of their legs. I can choose to get up, wherever I am, and go somewhere. Now, this brings me to another thing that I love about walking…. I remember walking seemingly crazy distances at seemingly crazy times of day. I remember my old neighbor...

A blog with no pictures…. But maybe a thousand words. Still no pictures…. I still have no pictures to offer this blog, only a thousand words. It has been over a month since I updated the blog, and I apologize to my network! Much has changed since last I posted…. I now work at Alternative Food Co. in Lubbock. I really think they should go with AFC, because it rhymes with KFC and I find that to be humorous. Am I the only one…? Otherwise… the weekend holds SPAGHETTISSIMO! A blog with no pictures….

A blog with no pictures…. But maybe a thousand words. I am joining the club of the brothers Smith on wordpress. I have no camera, so this will be a blog without pictures. So a thousand words will have to do…. I’ve been told that I have a habit of making pauses…. and saying…. about three…. words at a time…. kind of like Malcolm’s friend with asthma in Malcolm in the Middle). Well, I’m well short of a thousand words… which equals about 1/5 of a picture. That’s pretty lame. Welcome to WordPress.com.

Let the wild rumpus begin! The Smithlings go to Washington. Snowy day, rainy day. March 19, 2014. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Today we loaded up the supervan and headed over to the Kensington Park branch of the library. For story time. We listened to stories, sang a few songs — and when the librarian asked if anybody had a birthday today, Eli promptly raised his hand proudly and announced his Uncle Adam turned 10 today.🙂. An Uncle Adam throwback — Christmas 2011 with Henry. Char on Nature boys.

Let the wild rumpus begin! Monthly Archives: April 2013. April 29, 2013. April 25, 2013. Story time with Dad. We couldn’t bribe them with buckets of candy back in October to get them to wear their Halloween costumes, but last night Henry and Eli asked to pull them out of the closet. They had a blast wearing them around the house and even wore them over their pajamas to bed. Nice to meet you, Mr. Monkey. 8220;Think the neighbors still have candy? Elmo and Monkey — best friends. Let the wild rumpus begin! Monthly Archives: September 2012. September 30, 2012. We’ll be adding a new Smithling to our gaggle in February. This photo was taken a little more than two months ago, so he’s much bigger now… but yes, he’s a he! And yes, there’s only one this time! Henry and Eli know something’s up, but they’re still pretty young to grasp the entire concept. Still a long way to go until February, so by then they’ll certainly be ready to embrace their roles as big brothers. Hey, batter batter!

Let the wild rumpus begin! Monthly Archives: September 2013. Birthday parties and brand new chompers. September 21, 2013. This slideshow requires JavaScript. Wild and crazy times here at the Smith house, as Henry and Eli celebrated friend Emerson’s third birthday and Sam apparently cut two teeth while we were at the party. Say what? Trust me, Mom is confused, too. The birthday party: Henry and Eli’s pal Emerson from daycare turned 3 and celebrated with an awesome party at Memphis Kiddie Park. Create a fr...

Let the wild rumpus begin! Monthly Archives: August 2013. August 10, 2013. This afternoon we ventured to Literary Lots in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. I spy a spaghetti tornado! Um, yes please! What should we do next? Beyond the boats, there were two tables set with real (non-plastic) tea seats for the kids to play with. Henry and Eli had a blast setting the table and offering their guests cream and sugar. Good night, everybody! Oh, pool boys! August 4, 2013. They were amazing. They walked....

Let the wild rumpus begin! Nature boys →. Sidewalk chalk and bird seed. March 24, 2014. This slideshow requires JavaScript. The trick to controlling the chaos is to plan activities… LOTS of activities. So today the Smith boys fed the pets, helped Dad hang curtains, played on their LeapFrogs, watched some Caillou, helped Mom make lunch, ran to Target for some odds and ends (and earned Cadbury eggs for their excellent behavior! Here are some of the highlights of the day:. This entry was posted in Uncategor...

Today’s adventure was a total audible by Mom upon learning that the Fire Museum of Maryland. Wouldn’t be open to walk-in visitors like ourselves until the end of April. So… what’s just as exciting as fire trucks? I’m not quite brave enough to take all three to the Air and Space Museum. By myself, so a quick Google search led me to the College Park Aviation Museum. Thursday, September 1, 2011. This is not about red and blue; it’s about clarity. The visualization I had today on my therapist’s brown couch seemed easy enough to dissect. Fear represented in flashing red and blue lights, like a siren, an emergency, something requiring immediate attention, an urgent response. Therapy changes my brain chemistry, she tells me. It changes hers too. I don’t want to write about this. Aren’t I more creative than this? Don’t I want to get there, to the bottom of this all? Creat...

Temporary Texans | Living life one day at a time.
Living life one day at a time. So long, farewell…. Posted by themcclungs in Uncategorized. Auf wiedersehen, goodbye! I am writing this one last post with a little news. Good or bad news? I’ve not yet decided. I am taking a break from the blog (writing) world. Though I have thoroughly enjoyed sharing my life with you all, I no longer feel the need or desire to continue. These temporary Texans have returned home to Oklahoma. And we couldn’t be happier. Thank you, old friends, for the warm welcome back.

Temporary Texan Transplant
A four months long account of a woman who has never been on an airplane, who has barely been outside of Texas, and who is tirelessly trying to plan her wedding while on a foreign continent. Wednesday, August 3, 2011. Let me just say, that this was insane. The whole idea. The whole, "I'm gonna go to France, I'm gonna be fluent, I'm gonna plan a wedding, I'm gonna come back to a normal life." Moronic much, huh? On arrival, host mom came to pick us up in the car and Shad winced at the sharp turns and narrow...
