Fake It Until You Make It: November 2011
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2011_11_01_archive.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Saturday, November 26, 2011. It's trite but until I can process anything "life-related" on a deeper level, I just need to write today. Period. The book of Acts says that "in Him (Jesus) we live and move and have our being.for we are indeed His offspring". This is what comes to mind when I think about what I'm most thankful for: the Gospel (literally, good news). I belong to God! Truthfully, what I've struggled with most the last few months is resenting this period of engagement...

Between Green and Grey: Eight months, eight lessons
http://ryanandkatek.blogspot.com/2011/07/eight-months-eight-lessons.html
Thursday, July 28, 2011. Eight months, eight lessons. I'm taking a note from Teresa. And writing eight things I've learned in my extensive. Eight months of parenting. This is as much for me to process and think through things as anything. 1 Trust my instincts. 2 I was made to be a mommy. 3 I need to build in stress relievers. 4 Thanking each other goes a long way. 5 Being laid back is worth it. 6 Don't be competitive. Lulabell did that when she was 6 weeks old. You know what worked for me? I used to be o...

Fake It Until You Make It: March 2014
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Saturday, March 1, 2014. A few truths I'm reminded of as result of this experience:. 1) God knows us, knows what it's like to be. Us, and truly cares for us. He's the only one who knows what we truly need when we need it and more often than not will provide for us when we least expect. I won't try to argue that every seemingly-random occurrence equals divine intervention but I am fully convinced that there is no coincidence that takes place outside of His grasp. The World As Be...

Fake It Until You Make It: October 2010
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Sunday, October 24, 2010. That's when it hit me. The colors of the leaves jumped out at me, screaming, while the cool breeze was scattering them decoratively about the ground. I couldn't help today but stand in awe of our Creator God: less over what He has created; more over what He was creating in that very moment. And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ." - Philippians 1:6. Friday, October 15, 2010.

Fake It Until You Make It: March 2011
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Sunday, March 6, 2011. The March of Hope. Then it hit me: Yesterday was February. Today is March. All this comes from the God who settled the relationship between us and him, and then called us to settle our relationships with each other. God put the world square with himself through the Messiah, giving the world a fresh start by offering forgiveness of sins. (2 Corinthians 5:14-19; the Message version). Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Fake It Until You Make It: November 2010
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Thursday, November 18, 2010. Greatsgiving: That's Great, But Who Are You Thanking? Recently at the "office" we were asked to take three cutouts of leaves, and on them, write one thing on each of them that we we're thankful for and then place that on a larger cutout of a tree, so that on each row of "cubes" there would be a Thanksgiving tree. Adj 1) conscious of benefit received. Do you think these things just "were"? Better yet, did you set the universe in motion? On a personal...

Fake It Until You Make It: Chick-fil-a, Homosexuality, and Christianity: An Epidemic and an Apology
http://revivingflood.blogspot.com/2012/08/chick-fil-homosexuality-and.html
Fake It Until You Make It. Friday, August 3, 2012. Chick-fil-a, Homosexuality, and Christianity: An Epidemic and an Apology. Note: Though this isn't a popular or well-written. Blog that is ever likely to receive a lot of feedback, please be advised that anything other than a peaceful, civil discussion is not welcome here. Any comments that I find to be unkind, hateful, derogatory, flammatory, etc. will be deleted. My point-of-view is this: we seem to have a misunderstanding of sin. Thank you so much for ...

Between Green and Grey: Obama wants to kill your grandma*
http://ryanandkatek.blogspot.com/2009/08/obama-wants-to-kill-your-grandma.html
Wednesday, August 12, 2009. Obama wants to kill your grandma*. Thought we forgot about our blog, didya? We did, kinda. But we're back! We'll see if we do another disappearing act. I'm not going to write about the actual politics of healthcare reform. I have mixed feelings about the specific proposal. What I do not have mixed feelings about, however, is that some kind of reform is needed. But we also cannot expect people who are in vastly different situations from the beginning. A family with three daught...

Between Green and Grey: December 2010
http://ryanandkatek.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 21, 2010. A lot of people have asked about our birth story, so here it is. It's moderately graphic (not extremely, but if you don't want to know, don't read it). This is our story. We're not trying to judge anyone else's! Ellie’s birth story. Ryan and I decided to make use of each “bonus” day we got – we had dinner with Kevin, Laura and Ella Storm on the 19th; went to see Harry Potter: Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Saturday; and Ryan played hockey on Sunday night. One of the reasons we love...
