Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Roald Dahl 100 Celebratroy Blog Tour Giveaway. As I'm sure many of you know, today is a special day, because if Roald Dahl were alive today, he would be 100 years old. Working in the children's room of a public library, I get the joy of constantly introducing new readers to Roald Dahl's work. I've talked about this before, but Matilda. My all time favorite book. The Reader of Books. We’re going to be sick! It is bad enough when parents treat ordinary. Matilda’s brother ...

Tuesday, October 4, 2016. Review of If You Could Be Mine by Sara Farizan. In this stunning debut, a young Iranian American writer pulls back the curtain on one of the most hidden corners of a much-talked-about culture. If You Could Be Mine. Is a book that immediately intrigued me: two women! Set in another country! In retrospect, I should have anticipated that it wouldn’t quite work for my reading tastes, since shorter books aren’t always my thing. The writing here is subpar. There is a lot of tellin...

http://www.consumedbybooks.com/2015/07/review-of-stolen-by-lucy-christopher.html
Thursday, July 30, 2015. Review of Stolen by Lucy Christopher. It happened like this. I was stolen from an airport. Taken from everything I knew, everything I was used to. Taken to sand and heat, dirt and danger. And he expected me to love him. This is my story. A letter from nowhere. Without a doubt, my favorite part of Stolen. Is the landscape. Christopher's Outback is a place that is remote, beautiful, and terrifying with descriptions so vivid that you can almost feel how dry the entire place is&#...

Tuesday, January 5, 2016. My Top 12 Favorite Books of 2015. Here are my top 12 books of 2015! I haven't gotten around to reviewing all of them, and I've been focusing more on my young adult reviews. I highly recommend that you check all of these out if you haven't already. I prefer not to make separate lists for new releases and backlist books, because I tend to read a mix of both. Here are my favorites of the year. This was a fantastic follow up to Seraphina. Gave me so many feels. I enjoyed Grave Mercy.

Tuesday, June 8, 2010. Review of The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. In a future North America, where the rulers of Panem maintain control through an annual televised survival competition pitting young people from each of the twelve districts against one another, sixteen-year-old Katniss's skills are put to the test when she voluntarily takes her younger sister's place. This book's sequel, right on hand because I want to find out what happens ASAP. Disclosure: I purchased a copy of this book. I really w...

Stuff young people read.: June 2012
http://stuffyoungpeopleread.blogspot.com/2012_06_01_archive.html
Stuff young people read. Because we've already read Twilight. Thursday, June 7, 2012. Blood Wounds- Susan Beth Pfeffer. Okay, I admit it- I didn't like Life As We Knew It. I didn't even finish it. But Susan Beth Pfeffer is one of those writers who has been around for quite some time, and one of my favorite childhood books was by her: Nobody's Daughter. I found this book to be a quick read because I couldn't put it down. I really felt Willa's pain and the twisted family dynamics were fascinating. ...

Stuff young people read. Because we've already read Twilight. Thursday, May 24, 2012. I Hunt Killers- Barry Lyga. I have had mixed feelings about Barry Lyga's work in the past, but this new series is TOTALLY AWESOME. I LOVED THE CRAP OUT OF THIS BOOK. Seriously. Now, serial killer fiction can be pretty interesting. I do like to watch Dexter when my mental illness is not acting up, but this book was cooler than Dexter. The other characters in the book were great; his best friend is a hemophiliac and he ha...

https://readingshelf.wordpress.com/features
Take a Written Snapshot. There are various regular/semi-regular features on this blog. Some of these features were created by other people and appear on many different blogs, while I came up with a few of my own that aren’t necessarily unique and probably appear on many other blogs with different names. This is a specific Discussion feature where I talk about a certain archetype in YA that I don’t like...
