The village pub - The Wise Man. The Wise Man has a long established reputation in the south Dorset with the building becoming a public house in 1938 having previously been a residential cottage. Originally part of the Floyer Estate the origins of the property date back over four hundred years. Following an extensive fire in 2006 The Wise Man was extensively rebuilt to return to the heart of the village two years later, although it seemed a good deal longer for the regulars who greatly missed 'their local'.
