What's the idea? Where the personal is political. Laquo; Voices in the lower register. 30 years of women who never weary yet. August 8, 2014 by Roostandrights. I suppose the question I am asking is why do the young women who do it, want to show their bodies to the world? Every year the exposure goes to another level. What's the idea? Where the personal is political. Laquo; And how I ended up at Miss World. Gooseberries are to cherries what Wallis and Futuna is to. September 30, 2013 by Roostandrights. There is a somewhat dispiriting conversation which plagues feminism in the Caribbean. Are we transformational enough in our thinking and action? On Facebook, I came across this picture of Hazel Brown and Gabrielle Hosein. I kept looking at Hazel’s face, weary but determined because making change can take one a whole...

What else is there to be said about domestic violence that has not been said over and over? Shares the horror story from the region. This is a deeply dispiriting reality. What's the idea? Where the personal is political. Post #2: Review of Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao: Tonni Wiltshire Brodber (5/12/09). Roberta asked me at least a month ago to put together a few words on ‘The Brief and Wondrous Life of Oscar Wao’. It took me at least a month to reconcile myself with how I felt about the book. I really really wanted to like it more than I did. I mean how could I not love a book that starts with Walcott? Too many people raved about it’The best book you’ll ever read!

What's the idea? Where the personal is political. April 7, 2014 by Roostandrights. They say the young people dem done with Facebook. The crowd is older, less cool. Certainly the young people in my life hardly ever go on and so my position of maternal macoist is compromised. But I am still an avid FBer. I spent the last two days enjoying Lystra’s hospitality in her Guyanese house, Demerara- windowed, high ceilings, wooden floors and doors. Lovely, calming and cool. Something to think about.
