The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: November 2013
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Thursday, November 14, 2013. I made a trip to the Goodwill Outlet (aka – The Bins) with some friends last Saturday. Sara and I filled up a cart with all kinds of cool treasures! I figured (from the Goodwill tags still on the items) I got about $350 for $30.80! I picked up these three sweaters while I was there to make the sleeves into leg warmers. I forgot to take the “before” picture until after I’d started cutting. I followed the directions on this blog. The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: June 2014
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Tuesday, June 3, 2014. Our doormat at the front door used to say “God Bless Our Home”. But after walking on it and wiping muddy feet on it for a couple of years, it didn’t say anything anymore. However, I wasn’t willing to just go out and buy a new one and wasn't talented enough to recreate the original. LOL. Now we’ll see how long it lasts…. Posted by Leingang Family. The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: January 2013
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Wednesday, January 16, 2013. I’ve had this fabric in my stash for quite a while just waiting for the perfect project… I finally made it! Simple block pattern, framed in brown, simple straight line quilting. Just what it needed! I love the mod 70’s look to it! I quilted it by stitching in the ditch and making 1-inch rows in the solid blocks. This is the coordinating panel that I made into a wall hanging…. Posted by Leingang Family. Thursday, January 10, 2013. I got the patter...

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: March 2013
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. We got several jars of applesauce for Christmas from my husband’s aunt. Her lids were so nice, with just the perfect amount of “puff” to them. I finally opened a jar on Sunday and discovered how she did it…. Round cotton cosmetic puffs. They are just the right size to sit on top of a wide-mouth canning jar lid! Then cut out a 4-inch circle of fabric and lay it on top of the pads…. Screw on the band and you’re done! Thanks for the great idea, Cyndi!

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: April 2013
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Sunday, April 7, 2013. I have to confess that I had never heard of basting spray until one of my FB followers told me about it when I complained about hating the layering part of quilting. But it sounded so intriguing that I took my JoAnn’s coupon down to the store the next day and bought me a bottle…. First lesson learned: I am glad I laid down a vinyl tablecloth. I wish I had thought to pin it down before I started. :o(. I really like the way it turned out! Right back at ya.

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: December 2012

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Friday, December 21, 2012. No this isn’t bacon flavored soda, it’s make your own bacon popcorn in a can! First you need to follow directions for my Pop Open Gift Can. Then you need to make little packets of Bacon Salt. Cut up very large straws (Bubble tea straws work great! Into 1-2” pieces. Glue one end shut with a glue gun. Pour bacon salt into straw sections using a funnel. Seal the other end with glue. So everyone can enjoy the taste of bacon! Posted by Leingang Family.

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Thursday, January 30, 2014. Dry Erase Crock Pot Label. Whenever I make something for a party or potluck in my crock pot I always wish there was a way I could label it so everyone would know what it was. Sometimes I make cute little folded signs to put next to it but sometimes I forget or don’t have time. Today, however I was inspired by some old magnetic dry erase boards for the fridge that I have sitting in my craft closet. I cut one up, added some stickers and viola! The p...

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: June 2013
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Monday, June 17, 2013. I saw a set of six yard dice on Pinterest. I knew they would be a fantastic gift for my hubby for Father’s Day. They were $50! Then they were no longer a fantastic gift for my hubby…. Thankfully, I am fairly clever and handy with a saw. All I needed was a 4x4 post, a saw, a sander, and some outdoor paint. Easy peasy! First cut your post into six 3 1/2” pieces. Then sand the rough sides and edges. Lawn dice are great for all ages and are tons of fun!

The Backyard Farmwife: Pot Cozy Cooking
http://thebackyardfarmwife.blogspot.com/2013/08/pot-cozy-cooking.html
Welcome To Our Farm. Friday, August 9, 2013. While getting ready for our backpacking trip, I stumbled on this guy’s idea for easy, no-clean cooking while backpacking. His blog is Erik the Black’s Backpacking Blog. And it is great if you want to experience the great outdoors on foot! I always love easy cooking while on vacation and this idea proved to be a winner! It is so much easier to relax and enjoy scenery like this when you aren’t cooking and doing dishes three times a day! Dinner is served…. We jus...

The Backyard Farmwife Crafts: Woodsy Baby Girl Quilt
http://thebackyardfarmwifecrafts.blogspot.com/2014/01/woodsy-baby-girl-quilt.html
The Backyard Farmwife Crafts. Monday, January 27, 2014. Woodsy Baby Girl Quilt. I started this quilt before WAY before the holidays and finally decided it was time to get it off my to-do table…. I used my favorite, go-to fat quarter pattern from Two Little Banshees. I love this pattern! Quick, easy and so fun to make it unique! I decided to appliqué this brightly colored quilt with some woodsy little cut outs. I also love the way the yellow gingham binding looks on it! Posted by Leingang Family.
