http://iloveonceuponathimble.blogspot.com/2015/07/bodiam-castle.html
Once upon a thimble. Monday, 20 July 2015. I was still staying in Kent on Friday so I decided to visit Bodiam Castle. You will know by know that I love old houses, castles and history so this was a good day out for me. I had hoped to take the Kent and East Sussex Railway. To get there but unfortunately it doesn't run on Friday - just my luck, so car it was. South side showing the postern gate. There was bridge over the moat here. East side - the arched chapel window is to the right. Not a Kentish ' Oast.

http://iloveonceuponathimble.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Once upon a thimble. Saturday, 28 March 2015. The H&R U3A Handicrafts Group met at my home this week and we were lucky to have a friend of mine Linda M, who is an enthusiast of this craft, come and show us some of her work, some made by her sister and also a member of her own Rag Rugging. Group The rugs can either be for the floor, or used as cushions or made into wall hangings. Her sister has access to a market that sells 'bling' type fabrics with lots of glitter etc. Plenty of photos to follow:-. It se...

Once upon a thimble: The Power of TV!!
http://iloveonceuponathimble.blogspot.com/2015/08/the-power-of-tv.html
Once upon a thimble. Saturday, 15 August 2015. The Power of TV! Some weeks ago I picked up a leaflet about Gardens Open in aid of the British Red Cross with one in particular catching my eye. This was the Fellows Garden. Clare College, Cambridge so I mentioned it to some friends who said they would like to go. Then we heard that Monty Don would be featuring it on Gardeners World. But I didn't really worry too much about it. Back of the college. The River Cam was very busy with punters (pole on left).

Lazy Giraffe: August 2011
http://lazygiraffejewellery.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
All I can say really is YAY. The Chelsea Bun is back, and also a whole host of other goodies. I'm so pleased Fitzbillies. Is back and improved, and also it is a proper bakery where everything is made there, and made properly. We've already had a chelsea bun each but we visited again at the weekend. The tea is also very good here, proper loose leaf served in a pot. We'll be back for the coffee and also for lunches. The re-opening of Fitzbillies. Posted by Deepa Mistry. Church Street Gallery, Saffron Walden.

SarahSilversmith: Back to Base-ics: Instant Gratification
http://sarahsilversmith.blogspot.com/2013/12/back-to-base-ics-instant-gratification.html
Sunday, 22 December 2013. Back to Base-ics: Instant Gratification. I don't know if I've ever mentioned this, and really I'm not complaining since it's such a joy, but metalsmithing is often a rather slow process. Especially for me, as a bit of an amateur and *whispers* uptight perfectionist. In a quick fix. I wanted to make something simple. I wanted to make something quick. I wanted to hit something. So, I did. Reader, I confess, I loved it! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Even more so those rare bu...
