The Beerlyweds

Monday, July 19, 2010. Samuel Adams' Long Shot 2010 Winner: Mile High Barley Wine. Each year, Sam Adams runs a homebrew contest, and the top three winners get their beers brewed by the Sam brewery and get sold in a six-pack together. This year's winners were Old Ben Ale, Lemon Pepper Saison, and Mile High Barley Wine. Our first tasting was the barleywine. Seriously good, just unfortunate I couldn't finish the bottle. Three and a half wishes out of five. BA's Article about this year's winners. We've been ...

Sunday, July 11, 2010. Anchor Steam's Liberty Ale. Welcome to our new beer blog! We've been becoming bigger and bigger beer snobs, and Jeff had the idea to spread the beer love. Zero beer faces out of five. (That's really good! Labels: American Pale Ale (APA). July 16, 2010 at 7:05 PM. Please review Abita Purple Haze!

Made with rye and juniper berries, it's got some fruity hints, with a nice warm caramel color. We picked this one up at the local Wine and Beverage shop over the weekend. Three Sprites out of five. September’s New Recipe: Basil, Chicken, and Vegetable Curry | Burgh Bytes

https://foodiesuzy.wordpress.com/2014/09/16/septembers-new-recipe-basil-chicken-and-vegetable-curry

Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. September’s New Recipe: Basil, Chicken, and Vegetable Curry. September 16, 2014. As for my other resolution, though, I can check that off the list with great success. My new recipe for September was Basil, Chicken, and Vegetables in a Coconut-Curry Sauce. It was delicious, came together relatively quickly, and reheated well–an all-around win in my book! Sorry there’s no pictures. We were too busy eating to take any good ones! Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. A “Nu” Adventure, or, The Advantages of Living in Squirrel Hill. September 20, 2014. When we got there, people were waiting outside in the chairs on the sidewalk. Multiple large groups of people. There was a 30 minute wait. And thirty minutes doesn’t work when you have an antsy toddler. And so, we walked. Where else could we check out? And I am so glad we did! I was sad we couldn’t try dessert (grilled cinnamon babka with apples? Or chocolate babka with ice cream?

Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. Every so often, it’s nice to get out an have someone else cook for you–preferable someone who has more skills, knowledge, ingredients, or cultural background than you. Here are some of the places this foodie likes to frequent around town when she wants good eats (and, often, good beer). Got suggestions for a new place for me to try out? Coffee, Brunch, or Lunch:. Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. Last week of summer (and of foodie freedom). August 15, 2014. But those are thoughts for next week. This week, I had one last week having time to prep in the afternoons. Here’s what we ate:. Monday: Farmers’ market pierogies with oven-roasted broccoli. Tuesday: Farmers’ market sausage, rice pilaf, and asparagus. Wednesday: This amazing crock pot macaroni and cheese. Thursday: Mustard and white wine braised chicken. Fried potatoes, and corn on the cob. Want less food...

Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. Keeping up the trend…. September 14, 2014. Just posting this for the record. No Earth-shattering developments in the weekly dinner front, but it’s a way to keep myself “honest” in my meal-planning and my posting. Here’s what’s been on our plates. What’s the best thing that’s been on yours? I could use a little inspiration! Tuesday: Raid-the-fridge leftover night (told you it wasn’t an exciting menu! Wednesday: Fish with zucchini, black bean, and rice skillet. Frozen...

Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. Cheese-making, and a Paarti in my kitchen. October 3, 2014. One of the only things I asked for on my birthday this year was Aarti Sequeira’s new cookbook, Aarti Paarti. Bombay Sloppy Joes, massaged kale salad with mango, chicken tikka masala, parsnip chips, garam masala granola, Bahn-mi wraps…they’re favorites. So I’ve been super excited to get her new cookbook and try out some more recipes! I made my own cheese. It was a really neat experience! It took forever for ...

Coming Full Circle | Burgh Bytes

https://foodiesuzy.wordpress.com/2014/08/14/coming-full-circle

Eating and Drinking in the Steel City. August 14, 2014. I had a little help in the kitchen while making last night’s dinner. Okay, I had “help,” and then I had help. My fuzzy “helper” was trying to eat all the green beans that she could as soon as she thought I wasn’t looking. All to end up with a pot of very unevenly snapped, but very lovingly prepared, green beans for dinner. August 14, 2014 at 3:36 pm. I’ll bet they were the best green beans ever! Not the butcher, the baker, or even the other guy.

Beer and Alchohol Supply for Festivals and Events, small or large functions, indoor venue or outdoors - The Beer Machine

Welcome to The Beer Machine. As regulars to many festivals and concerts throughout the country for more years than we care to remember.we identified an area that seemed to lack the professionalism shown in the rest of the event organisation. Bars were usually poorly sited in unsuitable marquees, dispensing indifferent warm/flat/frothy beer off a rickety table. Disappointing, especially after a long wait in the queue to get served. The result is 'The Beer Machine'. 2011 - 2012 The Beer Machine.
