Just another day in China…. 8220;Venice is like eating an entire box of chocolate liqueurs in one go.”. February 1, 2015. February 4, 2015. What can I really say about Venice? Venice is…a fairy tale place. It really is enchanting. At the same time, after a day and two halves, we were ready to leave. This may be due to my Kansas man’s inability to love places that are completely water-locked (where are the wide open spaces? Random musings on Venice (in no particular order):. It is hard to find your way ar...

The Amalfi Coast – THE BEIJING BLAB
https://thebeijingblab.wordpress.com/2015/02/28/the-amalfi-coast
Just another day in China…. February 28, 2015. February 28, 2015. After our amazing visit to Trentinara to meet relatives we headed to Salerno, a lovely beach town near the famous Amalfi Coast. This town is probably more enjoyable in the summer. It certainly rained quite a bit, but thankfully the Amalfi Coast is just as beautiful in the rain, and half of our time looking at it was from a bus! So we didn’t get crazy soaked. A nice view from the bus window! Could have watched this all day! The drive back w...

https://thebeijingblab.wordpress.com/2015/04/01/my-big-fat-greek-_______
Just another day in China…. My Big Fat Greek. April 1, 2015. April 1, 2015. With some coaxing from my husband, I am determined to slowly but surely post about each place we visited over our Spring Festival vacation. Even though school is back in full swing and we are home in Beijing, I still want to be good about sharing life with friends and family back home! No extra fees = happy travelers. All this to say…we made it to Athens, Greece. Olives and capers and feta oh my! And that was Athens Day 1!

Encountering Asia and Beyond. Here's a story about one girl's travels in China and beyond. Always awaiting the next adventure. Wednesday, February 2, 2011. Two weeks into my post-graduation vacation with mom and dad in Dubai, and I'm itching to update. Oh Dubai. I don't know where to begin. I've been staying with my parents at their lovely rental villa on Palm Jumeira (Those sweet man made islands that look like a giant palm tree? Yep, that's where you can find me.) The back yard is the ocean. A painful ...

Encountering Asia and Beyond. Here's a story about one girl's travels in China and beyond. Always awaiting the next adventure. Thursday, March 26, 2009. Only in China (hopefully). Man: "Are you in the KKK? Me (torn between disbelief and laghter): "NO. Not at all.". Man: "Yes you are, you're from Texas.". Me: "No, I'm definitely not in the KKK". Man: "If i was from Texas I would be in the KKK.". Me (curiosity getting the best of me): "Why is that? Man: "Because I hate Negroes". Man: " Do you drink beer?

Encountering Asia and Beyond. Here's a story about one girl's travels in China and beyond. Always awaiting the next adventure. Tuesday, November 1, 2011. The never ending saga of national week. Ok lets see I left off in Chengdu. We arrived at my school a couple hours later, introduced Mom to the gate guards, made sure everyone had signed off on her being there and we were all set. So Mom had left, and I was back in my room, back on my rock hard bed, and back to work. Deb aka. your momma. Hirsch in the Ph...
