The Bell at Iden. Skip to primary content. Located 2 miles outside of Rye, we are perfectly located for Romney Marsh, and other attractions. We are also 20 minutes drive from the market town of Tenterden, and 30 minutes drive from Ashford, home of Ashford Designer Outlet, and of course Ashford international train station, for the Eurostar. Other cross channel services at Dover and Folkestone are 50 – 55 minutes drive away. We have two delightful letting rooms, which are separate to the pub.

We've still not picked the fruit and it's holding on getting sweeter, must get some trays to keep the Conference and the Howgate Wonder in storage. We've (I've) decided the grapes will be left to the blackbirds. The pond though, does need a good clear, I can hardly see the fish! The gardener who did it has gone lorry driving.

How to get here. Fern Cottage is a few minutes safe walk from the village centre, where you can find the Iden Stores selling everyday provisions and newspapers, and the Bell pub. Dating from the 11th century with good beer and a good food menu. A few minutes further on are the attractive All Saints' Church. And the park with children's play area. Further afield are many places of interest, including Bodiam. Castles, the Kent and East Sussex heritage railway. Great Dixter house and gardens.
