Caramel Apple Pie | The Bento Baker
https://thebentobaker.wordpress.com/2010/03/22/caramel-apple-pie
Baking through Bentos one day at a time. March 22, 2010. Oh my, this pie! And the crust was so easy! Every preconceived notion I had about pie is tossed out the window! You see, I have always been frustrated by pie crust. The thought of keeping the butter at the right temperature just drove me crazy, I didn’t want to spend 2 hours to make a crust! That just required you to mix everything in the pie plate and press into place. That sounded too good to be true! 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour. Place all ingre...

Easter Sugar Cookies | The Bento Baker
https://thebentobaker.wordpress.com/2010/03/29/easter-sugar-cookies
Baking through Bentos one day at a time. March 29, 2010. Ok you guys, I think I have found the holy grail of sugar cookies. For months I have been desperately looking for a good sugar cookie dough that was easy to manage and tastes great, and I can officially say I’m done now. 🙂 I found the recipe on Bake at 350. Less mess is a HUGE plus in my book. And bonus, there was no chilling necessary either! The royal icing was just created with the instructions on my meringue powder can.). 2 tsp baking powder.

Baking through Bentos one day at a time. March 25, 2010. I had some spare time to play with my food this morning 🙂 and look who came to visit? The flower on the chicken salad is the imagination of my little boy, who promptly named it Red Fred. I love the thoughts of a three year old, they say the cutest things! Made from leftovers this bento only took about 10 minutes and was very delicious. Who knew nori and mashed potatoes tasted so good together? From → Bento. Larr; Peanut Butter Rice Krispies. Creat...

Baking through Bentos one day at a time. Apple Hand Pi Day. March 16, 2010. While I was at church on Sunday I found out that it was Pi Day (Because the first 3 numbers in the formula for Pi is 3.14, how clever! Any excuse to make a pie! 🙂 I had a leftover roll of Pilsbury Pie Crust and a bag of apples, and you can guess where I went from there! Not pictured here is how I used the leftover filling for my ice cream topping, yummy yum! The filling recipe was adapted from Allrecipes.com. 2 tsp Lemon Juice.

Tiny Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Buttons | 17 and Baking
https://17andbaking.com/2009/05/19/tiny-peanut-butter-chocolate-chip-buttons
Tiny Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Buttons. May 19, 2009 at 4:12 pm. I absolutely hate these cookies. First of all, they are addictive. The peanut butter cookie melts in your mouth and has a sugary crunch. They are topped with a whole chocolate chip – white, milk, or bittersweet – to make them bite sized and dangerously irresistible. Secondly, they are adorable. Teeny tiny baby cookies, smaller than a quarter. When I brought them to school, some of my girl friends actually squealed as they held one. Magic...

Honey Glazed Chicken

My Mom’s Homestyle Stew. December 28, 2007. If you read my post on Sweet and Sour Chicken. Online and tonight marks the first night of trying practically every recipe on the site. This was delicious! One reason I loved this recipe is I didn’t have to spend the time battering and frying the chicken – it is simply baked but still develops a nice crust from the flour and seasonings it is coated in prior to baking (which means it is healthier, too! 2 lbs of diced uncooked chicken breast. 3 TB lemon juice.

http://cookingventures.blogspot.com/2010/02/clone-of-taco-bell-baja-sauce.html
Sunday, February 21, 2010. Clone of Taco Bell Baja Sauce. My Venture into Cloning. If you've ever had a Chalupa or Gordita at Taco Bell, this is the tasty sauce that they drizzle on top. Very yummy. The following is the list of ingredients in their sauce as published on their website:. Sauce, Pepper Jack. 1) Many of the first ingredients are used in the making of mayonnaise. 4) They use a lot of dehydrated stuff (such as the buttermilk, garlic, onion, etc.). After experimenting with this recipe no less t...
Bake at 350: Pear & Buckwheat Pancakes and a (Gorgeous!) Cookbook GIVEAWAY!
http://bakeat350.blogspot.com/2010/03/pear-buckwheat-pancakes-and-gorgeous.html
Cookie decorating and more! Tuesday, March 9, 2010. Pear and Buckwheat Pancakes and a (Gorgeous! I know I should be eating more whole grains. I know I should be eating a variety of whole grains. The truth is, they intimidate me. I stand in the specialty flour section, looking at the bags, then grab my bag of good ol' unbleached all-purpose, go home and make cookies. Happily, I received this book:. Good to the Grain: Baking with Whole-Grain Flours. The book is divided up by grain, such as:. Peel the pears...

The Bento Baker | Baking through Bentos one day at a time
Baking through Bentos one day at a time. April 5, 2010. Boy was this ever a crazy weekend! We had church choir performances, my brother-in-law’s wedding, and we hosted the family Easter party, all this weekend! And there was a ton of cooking involved, most of which, I am sad to say, I didn’t even get a chance to take a picture of before it was all gobbled up. BUT! That really is the best! It was just like whip cream in texture but never melted. 8211; yes, it has blue cheese but you cannot tell. Every...
Macaron chacaron
Monday, January 3, 2011. Matcha and Yokan Macarons. AKA the most time consuming macarons EVER. Each mac took probably 3 - 7 minutes to pipe. I am pretty happy with how they turned out though. And the filling is GOOOOD! Anyway, I've been wanting to to a matcha macaron for a while and this dessert reminded me of that. So for the filling I decided to do a matcha white chocolate ganache with a little square of plain yokan in the middle. Thursday, December 23, 2010. Then, I came across MacTweets. It got me th...
