The Viking head carved into the stone on the left is meant to symbolize the New World while the Native American Chief's head is meant to symbolize the Old World. The two carvings on the back of the building can be seen in the bottom righthand corner of this photo. The museum shop was added to the original structure in 1997 and sells glass paperweights among other memorabilia.
