The Bibliophile's Book Reviews: Mudbound

http://thebibliophile08.blogspot.com/2008/04/mudbound.html

The Bibliophile's Book Reviews. Friday, April 4, 2008. The Bellweather Prize is an award founded by Barbara Kingsolver to recognize works of social responsibility. Mudbound is one of the most harrowing novels I've read about life and racial tensions in the Deep South of the 1940s. I should have a special category of books that keep me up past midnight when I have work the following day. If I ever do create such a category this book will be at the top of that list. Reading literature, art, culture, and fashion. A Loving Observation: On Making Beloved Community, Gender, & Race. On July 28, 2015 by thebibliophile. Earlier this month, Sandra Bland. Sandra Bland’s story holds particular sway for me, because I too am a Black female academic – who frequently travels alone.
