Grog is still a big problem around town, most of the settlements in the bush are dry zones. They have developed some interesting ways to cope with the problem-many grog shops won’t sell port or sherry until after 3.30pm. Presumably it’s OK to get rat arsed at 3.31 but not at 3.29! Those bogan bush bashers whose uniform consists of thongs , board shorts and wife beater singlets or t shirts with pub or alcohol related slogans and battered akubra hats were by far the most likely to make it across. Extra points for Bundy rum stickers on your ute.
