We were working on a low budget, since every spare cent is going toward the backyard renovations, so that gave Anna a chance to get creative. Enormous, awesome portraits of the various characters from the films line the walls inside the lobby and once you get into the queue, you get your first glimpse of an actual set from the movies, all of which were filmed right here, in Leavesden, U.K., namely the cupboard under the stairs, which looks a lot smaller than you expect it to. You enter the Great Hall!

The Allens' Adventures in Londonland. A semi-regular accounting of our exciting and mundane exploits in the UK. Making Merry at Warwick Castle. So it was lovely to walk into the great hall and stand by a roaring fire for a while. Brent and the kids explored the hall while Alice and I went to a storytelling session in the Princess Tower. The girls and I went to Drury Lane to see Little Mermaid with Ali, Caroline, Mema, Granny, Aunt Marianne, and cousin Juliana. I loved watching their eagerness to get autographs from the cast.
