Kunkel's Castle: September 2009
http://kunkelcastle.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
Wednesday, September 16, 2009. 1st Day of Preschool! How did Preschool sneak up on me? Didn't I just bring him home from the hospital? I guess that was Maren. . . a year and half ago. Hm. After struggling a little with the decision to put Ryan into preschool I finally did. His October birthday means he'll be in preschool for two years, which I realize now isn't a big deal, definately a bonus for him. I was a close second. He loves preschool! Look what I got! Olives make me happy! Can we open them, Mom?

Wednesday, September 3, 2008. Salt Lake City Visit. After being home from Spokane one day, we picked up and headed to Salt Lake City, UT. The main reason for our visit was to celebrate my dear friend Rachel Degener, now Rachel Hales wedding. We've had so many good times together! There is hardly a dull moment when Rachel is around. As was evident at her reception when she made all her single family members and friends swallow a gold fish? The highlights for me:. Mike is about the sweetest, kindest, lovin...

Kunkel's Castle: June Vacations
http://kunkelcastle.blogspot.com/2010/07/june-vacations.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. In June we visited both sets of Grandparents, first to Spokane. To play with the Kunkel's. The kids traveled very well. Twice on different flights Maren started dozing off, but we were never so lucky as for her to actually fall asleep. She'd quickly realize she was falling asleep and get this tiny smirk on her face then she'd wake up. We had a lot of fun in Spokane, however we documented it very poorly, I guess. Jeff's sisters were there too! My brother Mike's daughter, Milee.

Wednesday, May 28, 2008. But there goes my afternoon yogurt and no more ice cream. :(. We did a 2 minute photo shoot on Sunday with the kids. I couldn't resist with Maren in her cute navy blue dress from Grandma Kunkel. Thanks Grandma! Ryan is really being a sweet big brother these days! He hugs her and gives her sweet little kisses on her head or hands all day. And melts my heart with "I luv Mawen" and "She's so tute." And "momma, you have more baby sisters in you bewee (belly)? Sunday, July 13, 2008. I couldn't resist a photo shoot of Maren in her new dress! Thursday, July 10, 2008. Fun with van Dijks. Clan drove up from Utah to spend a fun week with us. We spent a day at Hood River wind surfing. It's so much harder than it looks . . . or maybe I'm a wimp now, hum. . .no, it's kind of hard! Stephen wins the rock star wind surfer award, but Erica and I didn't do so bad! The kids had fun playing in the sand and throwing rocks into the water. And we got a brief glimpse. My favorit...

Sunday, July 12, 2009. Jeff hooked up his xbox. The other day, made me think of all our Ridgefield. Friends. I guess that means we're mostly settled now, and pretty official here in Memphis. I found an indoor soccer arena just a few miles from our place, and checked it out. The play was pretty much like Vancouver as far as quality (beginner), so I thought. I made a connection last week and got picked up by a team. I played my first game with them this week. I- yai. We got slaughtered (8-0) the first half!

Kunkel's Castle: July swimming
http://kunkelcastle.blogspot.com/2010/07/july-swimming.html
Wednesday, July 28, 2010. In July Ryan took 2 weeks of swim lessons. I wasn't sure if there would be any water left in the pool when he was done. It was really hard to watch him sink so much and take in so much water through his nose and mouth. I finally had to ask his teacher to help him a little more. Regardless of my struggle with swim lessons, Ryan loved it and his teacher! Maren had to wear her swimming suite everyday to the pool too! Maren making friends with another "little sister tag-a-long!

They had a blast with all their friends running around. And they LOVED their Fire Truck birthday cake! I love parties at the park! It was low stress, I got everything ready the night before. I didn't have to clean the house before or after, and I didn't have to worry about damage! Auntie Sarah came to visit us the week of Ryan's Birthday! Since I la...
