Monday, January 30, 2006. It Feels So Good. To be back where I belong. The chorus of a hard-hitting, underrated song from a world-renowned yet underappreciated artist by the name of James Todd Smith.Ladies Love Cool James. The G.O.A.T. (according the CD it was on). I've fluctuated my love for this apparatus like the stock market after 9/11 and the gas prices due to Katrina. I love to write.trust me, I do, but I HAVE NO TIME. Fresh", early 90s classic. For these short instances, my time will go to you.

Saturday, April 29, 2006. Analysis of My Surroundings. After getting my administrative clearance for graduation signed, it donned on me that I am officially able to graduate. The status of an alum is the peak I've been climbing for so long, that it brings a new meaning to the coined phrase of my Morehouse brother Dr. Martin Luther King '48, "I have seen the mountaintop.". With all this said, we don't fully incorporate all that we could. Instead, we compete to become THE guy/girl at THE school. We...This ...

Friday, March 17, 2006. Our Kind Of People. Lone Tree, CO. My mother pulls out this book and asks me if I've heard of it. "No, not at all," I reply. As I open it slowly and turn the pages I immediately check out a few chapters: "Howard, Spelman and Morehouse: The Three Schools That Matter", and the chapters on DC and New York City. Reading through the chapters, I was at first appalled. I hated being considered snobby or "elite", for I am an everyday person. As I read the book, Shepherd Park was listed as...

Tuesday, August 22, 2006. My life is a river. It has a start and an end, but along its journey, it has no stop. In my river lie fish that accompany me. Within my river, they multiply. Carnivores take some away, but they keep on swimming. Other fish try to swim upstream, but we keep flowing. When it rains and the water is plentiful, the downpour adds to my river. When there is a drought, my river wanes, but it keeps flowing. The sky are my thoughts. Perched high to see and experience all. As I return home...

Wednesday, February 22, 2006. Have you ever thought to murder yourself for all humanity? For if your thoughts got out, they’d be translated as insanity. Granted be, I didn’t write this poem; it’s all telepathy. My mental prowess moves others but may be the death of me. I’m getting back on my grind, coming back for the first time. It’s ludicrous how often I never revisit this state of mind. I’ve come to find that I fear no one on this earth. Except for the person my mother bore at my birth. March 15, 2003.

Saturday, May 13, 2006. Tick, tock, tick, tock, hey" - Juelz Santana, "Clockwork". Time is almost up. My undergraduate experience is ending in due time. Sunday at 8 am, I will be done with Morehouse College. When receiving my cap and gown, the woman behind the counter asked me which degree was I getting. I replied, "A B.A., but it was a bunch of B.S.". Call me confident, but I'm never in a hole too deep I can't get out of it. It's so low.I can't get under it" - Parliament, "Flashlight". Sunday, June 18, 2006. I haven't written in a while. Funny thing is that I've been bored out of my mind so I've had the time. Graduate life is a new experience, but I know I will long for college life. I used to tell my mom, "I love college, but class gets in the way." There is nothing like college. I've been around my undergraduate friends, some who are leaving Atlanta for good, and I wish I had more time, like five years was not enough. Vini vidi vici" - Julius Caesar. Lemony F. Snickets.

Regardless of my taste in music, the previous statement, though altered for my personal input, is very accurate. I have foresaken the very strand in my fiber: my writing. I will continue this later.I have work to do! Posted by Lemony F. Snickets at 6:46 PM. Lemony F. Snickets. In A Land Far Far Away. I'm Rick James, bitch.

Sunday, July 02, 2006. Since I've graduated, I have been in a great Pre-Law Program at this law firm downtown. I've been learning everything from estoppel to Torts. I've been very focused on my career and everything it takes to get there. I have a specific plan to follow.move to DC, start working, study for the LSAT, throw a few parties here and there, establish my business plan, and admission to Law School. Why did I ever start walking? Why can't I cross that bridge now? I don't know anymore.
