Loafing | The bread loaf
https://thebreadloaf.wordpress.com/loafing
Lazy musings on the state of our daily bread. Bread can be hard work, but here at The Bread Loaf we think it should be easy. There’s nothing better than loafing about on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of slices of good, real bread topped with some real butter. Simple, glorious heaven. Bread – you know it can be better! Lazy musings on the state of our daily bread. November 7, 2009. Today I just made it to the Upper Street, Islington branch of London restaurant and deli chain Ottolenghi. (Combined with a stop off at the excellent Gill Wing. Ottolenghi cheese straws: 1.50 each. From → Bread. Larr; Welcome to The bread loaf. Build ...

Bread has been around since the dawn of early agriculture, it’s one of the most important of foods in the world, yet is in danger of becoming mass-produced, industrialised gunk with little nutritional value beyond its basic calories. This blog is about my ongoing journey and experiences in search of real bread, the staff of life. From → Bread. Ottolenghi cheese straw →. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.
Ottolenghi soda bread | The bread loaf
https://thebreadloaf.wordpress.com/2009/11/09/ottolenghi-soda-bread
Lazy musings on the state of our daily bread. November 9, 2009. While on detour to the Islington branch of Ottolenghi. To pick up a what turned out to be a lone cheese straw, I also caught the end of that day’s bread. In this case, a rather large round soda loaf. On the other hand there’s also not much of a yeast flavour and the inside has quite large air bubbles, so I’m prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt. Ottolenghi soda bread: 3.50 per loaf. From → Bread. Larr; Ottolenghi cheese straw. You ar...

The Bread Machine's Apprentice | A girl, a bread machine and wheat storage. What could possibly go wrong?
The Bread Machine's Apprentice. A girl, a bread machine and wheat storage. What could possibly go wrong? Why I’m Apprenticing…. Want Not, Waste Not. I’ve been wasteful with my bread lately. Lately as in since my last nephew moved out. I’m stuck on the idea that I need to make the big loaf of my bread machine because I am a big person, my mom is a bit fluffy as well and, well, wheat bread is good for you. Right? Update: Her Dark Materials. 15 cups warm water/1.5 cups warm water. 1 tsp salt/1 tsp salt.
