Blager

Monday, March 15, 2010. So imagine my surprise. Standing, browsing their shelves with the supreme assuredness I imagine was enjoyed by Demetrius of Phaleron in the Stacks at Alexandria, I was suddenly struck by an undefined interstice in the otherwise orderly presentation of labels. For its own part, Bacchus. Is a well made, well-tempered example of a style that is frequently and easily overdone. Avoiding these pitfalls, it distinguishes itself by its reserve. Blager: Mexican Food, Austrian Beer. Who Knew?

http://thebrewru.blogspot.com/2009/08/mexican-food-austrian-beer-who-knew.html

Wednesday, August 19, 2009. Mexican Food, Austrian Beer. Who Knew? I was thrilled to receive my first write-in question last night! I am having a party for about 20 to 40 people this Friday night where we are serving tacos and margaritas. What kind of beer goes with that? Is Blue Moon a good choice? Wondering in Pebble Beach. Mexicans are no fools - their beers may be given short shrift by some aficionados, but are pretty much perfect for their cuisine. Light, dry, highly carbonated.

Blager: Try This At Home

http://thebrewru.blogspot.com/2010/01/try-this-at-home.html

Wednesday, January 27, 2010. Try This At Home. 1 bottle ( 12oz) Samichlaus doppelbock (the dark one - not the Helles). Samichlaus should be served like a fine port, barely below room temperature, and no cooler than 60F. 1 bar dark chocolate, preferably around 70%. Dagoba Conacado is 73%, and works beautifully. 1) Pour the Samichlaus into two small stemmed glasses - port, for instance, or small sherry. Reserve about a third of the bottle, keeping in mind that this beer is stronger than many wines. But tru...

The BrewRookie

Wednesday, May 25, 2011. Finally, the very long and overdue tasting of Starrlight’s. After bringing this mead home, we popped it open and poured a few glasses. It’s a very beautiful golden color like a light apple juice and incredibly clear with no carbonation. The mead also has a slight scent of honey to it if you’re paying attention. Fear not fellow readers! Overall I would recommend this mead to anyone that:. Enjoys a good glass of wine. Enjoys a traditional semi-sweet mead. Monday, May 2, 2011. As I ...
